Fat people need to be told they’re fat? Fat shaming helps them “get in the gym?” 🧐

While I’m not naive enough to think that someone like Ed Matthews or his followers are the type of people to be open to reason or evidence.. I think this topic is always worth discussing. 

I’m also 99% sure he’s just rage baiting for views 🙄

Regardless, if this video only results in a couple people understanding the impact of their behaviours, it’s worth it.

If you ACTUALLY care about people. You will not fat shame them. It will only make the situation worse for the majority who experience it.

If you want to have a constructive conversation or have questions that is absolutely fine… But my patience for dealing with muppets on social media is at an all time low. So I will not tolerate any comments that are 1) childish/insults 2) disingenuous/inflammatory 3) evidence of the fact that you have not actually watched the full video or listened to the words coming out of my mouth. I will happily go on a blocking spree because I ain’t nobody got time for that 🤪

This video was actually even longer but I had to cut certain parts down otherwise it would have been like 10 minutes 😂

To emphasise, I don’t demonise any foods. I’m NOT saying that red meat/saturated fat is bad for you at any amount or that it can’t be consumed as part of a healthy diet. But this doesn’t mean we can’t acknoweldge that they can likely increase health risks at certain intakes (just like sugar or ultra processed foods).

If you want to follow a carnivore diet… you do you boo. I’m not your daddy and I’m not trying to tell you what to do. My issue here and is always the promotion of misinformation. 

People should be able to make INFORMED choices about what they put into their body.

That means looking at what the weight of the literature shows us and not dismissing everything that doesn’t suit our bias due to funding. Good day 🫡

Valentines Day Breakfast Tostada❤️ These are heart healthy and so delicious. Packed with fiber, iron, protein, and antioxidants, I cant imagine a better way to show your love. For 100+ easy delcious recipes, check out my new cookbok, Love the Food that Loves You Back ❤️❤️❤️ 2 High fiber or corn tortillas 2 Eggs 2 cups Spinach 1 clove garlic 1/4 c fat free or vegetarian refried beans 1 small tomato 1/4 avocado 1 cup raspberries 1 tbsp hemp seeds or crushed walnuts Salt and pepper to taste 1 oz feta, optional Preheat oven to 450°. Cut tortillas into hearts, according to the video (optional). Spray a baking sheet with avocado or coconut oil and bake the tortillas for 5 minutes until crispy. Heat a pan on the stovetop and add oil spray and 1 crushed garlic clove. Add 2 cups spinach and sautee for 3 minutes until wilted. Remove tortillas from oven and Add sautteed spinach, refried beans and an egg to each tortilla crisp. Place tray back in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until egg in set. Top with feta (optional), and serve alongside berries, nuts and seeds. I eat a little different everyday but my beverage routine is pretty much the same always. I start every morning with energize, honestly whether I work out or not. Are protein shakes good for weight loss?
 Maybe not.. there is evidence that the satiating (filling) effects of protein may be down to the types of foods and the food "package" rather than the macronutrient itself.
 The study I cited is just one example but there are others. For example: PMID: 21272705.

In a large pan over low to medium heat, Sautee 1 chopped onion in 1-2 tsp olive oil, with 3 crushed garlic cloves, and 1-2 tsp grated ginger. 2. After 2-3 minutes, add in whatever veggies you like. In this video I used about 3 cups shredded cabbage. Mushrooms and peppers would be great too. 3. Once the veggies are cooked down a bit, add 1 pound of ground chicken breast, turkey, beef or extra firm tofu. Use your spatula to break up the protein and get it cooked. 4. Make a sauce: 1/4 low sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos, 1/4 cup brown sugar or similar sweetener (I want to make this with date honey), and 1-2 tbsp of toasted sesame oil. 5. Add 1 cup of chicken or vegetable broth and continue to cook over low to medium heat. 6. Make a corn starch slurry by mixing 2 tbsp cornstarch (or similar starch) with 1/4 of water. Mix well to remove clumps then add it to the pan. 7. Simmer on low, covered or uncovered for 20 additional minutes and serve with lettuce cups or over cauliflower rice. My kids love it with spaghetti in it. From “You Don’t Need to Balance Your Hormones”, TIME Hormones may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to your health—unless you’ve spent any time on TikTok recently. If your body’s moderating chemicals aren’t being churned out at exactly the right times and quantities, the app’s content creators claim, a cascade of symptoms including sluggishness, acne, headaches, and weight gain can ensue. But not to worry, they say: a “hormone balancing” regimen, based on eating certain foods and doing the right exercises at prescribed times, will fix that. This trend has two of the bright red flags of pseudoscience: It sounds too good to be true, and it’s built from the rejiggered pieces of valid concepts. Hormonal abnormalities are legitimate medical concerns, and there are various diagnosable disorders that require treatment or lifestyle management. But these are not the conditions that digital wellness messengers are focused on. Their concern is a broader, vaguer sense of “imbalance,” which some content creators claim might not show up in standard endocrine testing. Hormone balancing is often presented more as a self-help or entrepreneurial undertaking than a medical one. And it’s almost always targeted at women, exploiting age-old beliefs about gender and psychological and physical stability. Some people struggling to lose weight may be hampered by a true hormonal issue, like hypothyroidism, in which certain hormones are underproduced, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a relatively common hormone disorder among women. Sometimes it’s really difficult to stop eating even when we are full 🫠 ….We have all been there and that's ok!! I’m sure we have all felt like rolling around after a big Christmas roast. 👉🏼 But if you consistently eat past comfortable fullness here are some tips that helped me and will hopefully help some of you: 🍪When I used to have many food restrictions, like not having any “naughty" treats, it would drive me to extremes. However, when I ditched labels like "good food," "bad food," and "cheat day," I discovered that I can enjoy any food at any time without feeling overwhelmed. 🥡Knowing that I don't have to feel bad for wasting food. I can simply plate it up for the next day or if I am out for a meal ask for a takeaway box. 📱 No screens whilst eating and slow down a little! This allows me to be more mindful when I eat,  to be more aware when I am starting to feel full. ⏰ Remind myself that it's ok to be full now even when I have not finished everything on my plate, i can always go back for more later if needed.  😨I realised that certain emotions such as stress and boredom would trigger me to overeat, I have now found alternative ways to overcome those emotions which helped a lot.  🕰️ Eating at regular times helped to prevent extreme hunger, which can lead to overeating Skipping meals can make it harder to listen to hunger and fullness signals. 🤔 Reframing old thoughts or guilt associated with leaving food on my plate. Remembering that it's okay to stop eating when i'm satisfied. ❤️Finally please seek professional help If overeating is causing significant distress or health issues <3 👩‍🔬 The clever thing about hunger and fullness ques is that they adjust to your fluctuating energy requirements.  The diet world often prescribes a fixed amount of calories per day, but the truth is that your metabolism varies daily due to so many different factors. Learning to be in tune with your hunger ans fullness queus allows you to respond to your bodies ever changing needs! AND you get to feel your most energised self. Whatever you eat, it doesn’t define you as a person. You’re just as worthy before and after that meal. I remember when a girl in my family was just 5 years old and said to me... "I can't eat bread, mummy said bread will make her fat, so I don't want to it eat either" 😣 Now I am in no way blaming mums. The world that WE and her mum grew up in was (and still is) filled with toxic diet culture messages and fake news. ❤️‍🩹 But I do believe that change starts with US. We HAVE to lead by example. Our words and actions have a huge effect on a young mind. I don't what these stats to be anyones reality anymore. 🫂Changing these statistic requires a joint effort from parents, educators, policymakers, and society as a whole.
