BODY RECOMPOSITION. The process of building muscle and losing fat simultaneously. Please don’t be afraid of gaining weight or worry about the number on the scale in your fitness journey. The scale tells a very small story in at all… The best thing you can do is pick up heavy weights, eat more protein, prioritize your rest, and stay consistent. Here’s what you’re going to do to achieve body recomposition. 1. Stick with your maintenance calories. All this is saying is that you’re going to eat the same amount of calories that you burn throughout the day. So let’s say you burn 1800 calories a day, you’ll also want to consume 1800 calories per day. 2. Prioritize protein. Aim to consume 1g of protein per ideal body weight. Ultimately what’s going to happen is that you’re going to start to burn the fat and then start to gain muscle mass. That means that during this time you’re not going to likely lose or gain weight but you’re going to start to look completely different at the same weight. 3. Strength training (progressive overload) + pilates 4-5x per week following a program. You can find my program in my b!0. If you focus on these 3 things you’ll transform your body and feel so strong. One night or week won’t change anything but after a few months and years you’ll look back and feel unrecognizable. Allow yourself to grow and don’t hold yourself back! Why are some people unable to lose fat no matter what they do? Simply put: they haven’t tried the right things. Or they haven’t done the right things consistently. They think that eating less food is the way to lose fat. They try fad diets like keto or carnivore. They go from sitting on the couch to working out 2 hours a day. 🥰 Please be kind, she is working very hard to get more healthy and fit. Alexis started on Dec. 6th, and this video was taken Feb. 23rd. . HER PLAN: 🍳 NUTRITION: Alexis is eating whole natural foods high in protein, good carbs, & good fats all within the calorie deficit that we calculated for her. (Everybody’s calorie intake is going to be different depending on your height, weight, activity, level, & personal goals) . ACTIVITY: You heard right, no cardio. Alexis gets 10,000 steps a day. . WEIGHT LIFTING PLAN: She lifts 4-5 times a week, splitting up her body parts. Her glutes are growing and coming up quickly because we are not overtraining them. Each body part once per week. She does her hams & upper glutes, and then 5 days later, her quads and lower glutes. 🤗 You must give your muscles time to rest and build, or they will shrink if you overtrain them. 😆 If you look at her pictures, you can clearly see her glutes have lifted, & now are starting to build and shape. This takes time and with the correct plan. She has been doing the same workouts with me so far. We won’t change them until the three month mark, because if you jump around on your workouts, you don’t know what’s working. Supplements for PCOS ⬇️ Firstly, I’m not a doctor and this shouldn’t be taken as medical advice. Consult your GP before making any changes. Despite it being called Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome your ovaries don’t actually need a string of pearls to have PCOS. But you *do* need to have 2/3 of the Rotterdam criteria which is: • Ovarian cysts • Elevated androgen levels • Anovulation (lack of/irregular periods) Got it? Good. Here are your list of supplements to help with your health and management of symptoms: ➡️Inositol - (most well studied supplement for PCOS) shown to play a role in insulin signalling transduction and reducing insulin resistance. ➡️Vitamin D - help as anti-inflammatory and reduce androgen related hair growth ➡️B12 - brain and nervous system function ➡️Magnesium - can improve insulin sensitivity ➡️Cinnamon - support menstrual irregularity, improve blood sugar regulation and can improve cholesterol ➡️Zinc - may assist with insulin resistance and reduce androgen related hair growth Chromium - may reduce insulin resistance and testosterone It’s worth noting that “low-carb”, is <45% of total calories (~150g) so don’t feel you need to remove them completely.
