If you are approaching 40 or over age 40, I do not recommend doing these 3 exercises. Yes, running taxes your knees & muscles a lot, and can actually make them shrink not grow. 😳What?! Why? Think of a marathon runner. They are built long, lean and stringy because they are always over taxing their muscles. That look is fine if that’s what you want to look like. But if you want some curves to your body and you’re trying to build muscle, believe me, running is not the answer. Walk uphill instead. Plyos, who invented the spawns of Satan anyway? Lol these are just not necessary. 🤪 I am not a fan of multi joint movements. Leg day is leg day, if you’re going to squat, then squat, no need to go all Cirque Du Soleil with extra movements. You’re more likely to injure something when you can’t concentrate properly on your form for each muscle group. Now, if you’re a crossfitter, and that’s your sport, then that’s one thing. Just be careful. I hope it made you laugh too. 🤪🤪😂 Seriously though, protein bars are the worst culprit for this and too many protein shakes. The brand makes a big difference as well. For example, premier protein shakes and Fairlife are known for causing gas and bloating because the ingredients in those are terrible. So if you’re consuming those trade for something else. Let me know if you need a recommended protein with less gas and bloating. ⚠️‼️ Never do these two things when you get on a like press. Hyper extending your knee can lend you in the ER so be very careful. Anytime you do the leg press or a squat your knees should travel outwards all the way up, and all the way down. If you have knee or back problems and can’t do back squats, those cable squats are amazing to take pressure off your back and knees. Especially if you’re over age 40. 🤪 You can also do these at home with a thick band. Tie the band around something heavy, like the bottom of the couch pull back on the band and squat. . Same with the second exercise, it’s easier on the knees to use a cable so you can lean back into the movement a little more which takes some pressure off your knees. 🤗 Once again, you can use a band for this in the same way as the cable squats. . #fitnessmotivation #over40fitness #over50fitness #fitnessjourney #fitnesstok #GymTok #workouttips #workoutroutine

I do mine once a week, but very lightly right now because I’m at my goal with them. If you are trying to carve out the muscles on your arms, I do recommend training your biceps and triceps hard once a week. In fact, if you’re training each body part more than once a week, they won’t grow as well. 😱 What Clare?! Why? When do your muscles grow? When we rest right? Exactly, so give them time to rest and grow. 😎🌴 This is how to stay on track on vacation. I get this question a lot, Clare do you drink alcohol? My answer is not very often. Let me tell you why… Alcohol is a toxin so the second you ingest it your liver has to process it immediately. Therefore, it does not have time to process the food you eat before, during and after properly. Ugh, especially when you’re over age 40 because our digestion slows so much as we age which compounds the problem. So guess what happens? It slows your fat loss to a crawl, and it also slows your protein synthesis by 60% or so. Yeah, that. 😭 But my main concern with alcohol is recently drs have linked alcohol to 9 different different types of cancers. Since most of my family were drinkers, and all of them died of cancer, that’s a no for me. We only drank two or three times during this whole trip. I like to drink just as much as the next person, but I just know too much. 🤪😂 Would you like to see a part 3 on other meals? 🤗 Life is too short, take the bucket list vacation my friend. This one has been on our radar for years, it was our 20th wedding anniversary this year and this was our celebration. 🌴 Bora Bora is everything it’s cracked up to me and more. 😃⁉️ HOW we did this… My niece Alexis has worked so hard to drop 30 lbs, 8 pant sizes, 5” off her waist, & 6” off her hips. Please drop her an encouraging comment. @Alexis Salmon so proud of you. 😍 When she came to me, her energy was low, her back was hurting, and she just wanted to be healthy and feel better in her own skin. So this is what we did: 🍳🍠 We completely revamped her nutrition because like most people, she was eating a lot of things that she wasn’t aware we’re holding her back from losing fluff. . So we got her macros/ calories where they needed to be for her to lose fluff and muscle at the same time. 💪 Her nutrition consists of mostly natural foods, high in protein, healthy carbs and healthy fatssss. . 💪 Alexis lifts weights five times a week, splitting up her body parts. She does her leg days every five days, splitting up hams/ upper glutes, then quads/ lower glutes. No overtraining, muscles grow when you rest. 🤗 For the most part, Alexis trains on her own with the plan we set for her. But, I have been training her in the gym on leg days mostly to make sure her form is on point. 🏋🏽‍♀️ . 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️Cardio: none at first, just 10k steps a day, that’s where we burn the most calories is our all day activity. Last month we added in 20 minutes of uphill walking fasted or post lifting 5 x a week. 🧠 Because she had no energy, had brain fog, and also was having a hard time building muscle/ losing fluff we ran her hormone panel. And guess what? Her hormones were way off! That explained why she was so fatigued all the time, she was having foggy thinking, and losing fluff was harder. These symptoms are related to your natural testosterone and hers was a 6 which is extremely low. So we addressed that also. Within a day of her first dose, her brain fog went away and her energy levels came way up. Even at the young age of 25 hormone imbalance can occur.
