😎🌴 This is how to stay on track on vacation. I get this question a lot, Clare do you drink alcohol? My answer is not very often. Let me tell you why… Alcohol is a toxin so the second you ingest it your liver has to process it immediately. Therefore, it does not have time to process the food you eat before, during and after properly. Ugh, especially when you’re over age 40 because our digestion slows so much as we age which compounds the problem. So guess what happens? It slows your fat loss to a crawl, and it also slows your protein synthesis by 60% or so. Yeah, that. 😭 But my main concern with alcohol is recently drs have linked alcohol to 9 different different types of cancers. Since most of my family were drinkers, and all of them died of cancer, that’s a no for me. We only drank two or three times during this whole trip. I like to drink just as much as the next person, but I just know too much. 🤪😂 Would you like to see a part 3 on other meals? Let me explain… 🦵When you do your step ups with a straighter back position it’s going to hit more of your quads. 🍑 But if you lean forward as shown in the second clip, it really isolates the glutes and gives you a good stretch. Be sure to do these slowly and controlled. you can also do these at home with a wall in front of you. 12 to 15 reps and four sets each leg. Take one minute rest in between. 🤷🏽‍♀️ What to do after you indulge a bit too much lol. 🍔🍟🍷🍫🍰🎂🍨🍕 . The first thing you need to do is get back on plan. The scale may go up, but I guarantee you it’s mostly water. You didn’t gain 2lbs of fluff in one meal I promise. 🩷 Where you get in trouble is when you continue indulging for days on end. Just leave it where it happened and it’ll be okay. 🤗 No need to punish yourself with extra cardio, cuz you can’t outrun your fork anyway. Haha Don’t deprive yourself, your body still needs nutrients to function and build muscle as well. 💪💪 And here’s what a lot of people don’t understand about a cheat night. After you have a high cal meal a lot of times it will boost your metabolism, which is a good thing. 💪 It will also help you with your strength in the gym. Let me explain… Have you ever had a cheat and then you go to the gym and you feel a lot stronger? Yes, that’s why, it’s a thing. This is why you don’t want to be on a low-carb plan when you are lifting weights. When you consume carbs, they turn into glycogen & store in your muscles. This is what gives you strength and helps you push in the gym. It also helps you recover, but most peoples macros are not right for their body. This is the main reason why people don’t see results. Replying to @crissy0726 😃⁉️How we did this…My niece Lexi has worked so hard to drop 40 lbs, 10 pant sizes, 7” off her waist. Please drop her some encouragement. When she came to me, her energy was low, her back was hurting, & she just wanted to be healthy and feel better in her own skin. So this is what we did: 🍳🍠 We completely revamped her diet because like most people, she was eating a lot of things that she wasn’t aware we’re holding her back from losing fat. Her macros were also wrong for her body which is very common and I see that a lot with my clients. Type “macros” if you would like to quickly figure yours out & I’ll get it to ya. 🤗 Everyone is different. . So we got her macros/ cals where they needed to be for her to lose fluff and muscle at the same time. 💪 Her food consists of mostly natural foods, high in protein, healthy carbs & healthy fatsss. . 💪 Lexi lifts weights 5 x a week, splitting up her body parts. She does her leg days every 4 to 5 days, splitting up hams/ upper glutes, then quads/ lower glutes. No overtraining, muscles grow when you rest. 🤗 Lexi trains on her own with the plan we set for her. But, I do train her in the gym on leg days mostly to make sure her form is ok. 🏋🏽‍♀️ . 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️Cardio: none at first, just 10k steps a day, that’s where we burn the most cals is our all day activity. Recently we added in 20 minutes of uphill walking fasted or post lifting 5 x a week. . 🧠 Because she had no energy, had brain fog, & also was having a hard time building muscle/ losing fluff we ran her hormone panel. And guess what? Her hormones were way off! That explained why she was so fatigued all the time, she was having foggy thinking, and losing fat was harder. These symptoms are related to your natural testosterone and hers was a 6 which is extremely low. So we addressed that also. Within a day of her first dose, her brain fog went away and her energy levels came way up. #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #gym #GymTok #strengthtraining #fitnessinspiration
