I get a ton of questions about why we dont drink and how and why we decided to make that decision. Thought a post about some of our reflections would be helpful. On top of this— The answer is pretty simple: We were going down a path that was reckless and filled with anxiety. I, personally, just got to the point where I was so sick of how I felt, it was a no brainer that something had to change. So I committed to 30 days no alcohol (the typical month detox which seemed “hard” at the time), that slowly turned into 2 months because I felt so good, then i found out I was pregnant and haven’t been back since. (I have tried to bring it back in thru the holidays but it just doesn’t seem to do anything for me anymore). If you are remotely questioning removing alcohol from your life, i’m here to dare you to try it. Give yourself time to feel uncomfortable, maybe say goodbye to some social influences, and walk with conviction to your commitment. DO NOT STRAY. The best things in life are hard at first. A note on the last point. I used to look over the fence at other people’s lives and WISH for change. Idk what it is about sobriety but you realize you already have the things you need to live the life of your dreams— the gifts, the talents and other God-given blessings, you have it all. When I drank, it compromised my growth mindset. Btw, i’m not anti- alcohol, at all. Esp if you drink within reason and moderation. I’m just explaining my experience getting it out of my life, as I know many of you are on the fence with the same decision. #sober #sobercurious #kettlebellworkout #workoutroutine #athomeworkouts
