Here’s a some explanation for you Yes, you can experience some regional growth in the hamstrings & quads depending on what end of the muscle you’re training from. For example: The hamstrings cross both the hip and the knee. When you do deadlifts (Hip extension) you can see more growth higher up on the hamstrings, closer to the hip — For leg curls (Knee flexion) you can see some preferential growth down lower, closer to the knee. Also, yes, the calf works on leg curls. The first 15° of knee flexion (Top of the curl) is performed by the gastrocnemius. Let this be your sign, no matter your size, to try new things - especially things that might feel exclusive to one body type. I always assumed Pilates was just for a specific girl and specific size. I let that assumption manifest into a fear of trying it, until one day I decided that my size will not be a limitation. And since then, I’ve never felt more free.
