Spring Cleaning is in session and today we tackle the drying machine! Did you know you’re suppose to clean more than just your lint trap?! I didn’t! Turns out there’s a ton of lint trapped behind and below your lint trap! Good thing most of the dryers made allow for us to remove this part for some much needed deep cleaning. I used a kit (link on LTK in bi0) that helped me get to these hard to reach places. Make sure you add deep cleaning your dryer to your spring cleaning list this year! Because in Canada alone, approximately 15,000 fires are caused by lint build up! But if this all feels overwhelming, don’t worry. Will You Still Eat Figs After Watching This?…18 month update 🐝 Some Figs Have Dead Wasps Inside Of Them Figs are pollinated by female wasps, and they’re not actually fruits but inverted flowers - so wasps crawl inside, lay eggs and fertilizes the flowers with pollen from other figs. The wasp eggs hatch into larvae and they feed on the interior of the fig before pupating and exiting the fig as adult wasps. I had no hope for my fig seeds but that’s clearly not the truth bc i kept these seeds for two years. and last week i opened my fig seeds to see some of the seeds sprouted. so i planted them in soil. Now it is worth mentioning that not all figs contain wasp larvae, especially those sold in the grocery store because they aren’t pollinated the same way. Even when a fig does contain wasp eggs or larvae, they are so small and microscopic that they are typically digested along with the rest of the fig's flesh when it is eaten. So, while the idea of wasps inside a fig might sound strange or unappetizing, it's actually a natural part of the fig's life cycle and doesn't usually have any impact on the fig's taste or nutritional value. Add deep cleaning your shower heads to your spring cleaning list expeditiously! While you’re at it, check your faucets because mine was PINK under there. I can’t believe I’ve been brushing my teeth with that water. 🤢 Don’t worry if your shower head doesn’t come off, just use a ziplock bag and rubber band to secure the vinegar to your fixture. I left my shower head in the mixture for only a few minutes before I saw the lime scale deposits come out. But to be safe I left it submerged for a couple hours before taking it out to deep clean with a small dental brush. You can use a tooth pick too! I’m so glad I did this even though I’m slightly horrified. Some boarding action • Cut the board, mark out the plugs, add some adhesive so the screws won’t pop and you can use less screws. Lift the board 1/2” off the ground and put a couple screws in to hold is while I cut out the plugs with the Makita cutout tool. Then finish it off will the Makita collated screwgun.
