I didn’t sleep train Easton until he was 17 months old & fully capable of self soothe. & I cried the whole time. If I wasn’t pregnant & expecting another baby, I probably never would have done it. Here’s what nap time looked like during our trip to Japan, where we packed extremely light, and I didn’t have either my SlumberPod or blackout curtains, or my travel pack and play. I really don’t want the comment section to turn into a debate against cosleeping and safe sleep. I personally try and always follow the safe sleep guidelines that just was not the reality on this trip as we didn’t bring the pack and play and the hotel pack and plays weren’t available for us. Not trying to promote one type of sleep strategy just trying to share how we got our two little ones to take a nap on vacation without packing any additional gear. their naps didn’t always lineup as my baby takes two naps and my toddler takes one nap but sometimes my toddler would wake up earlier than my baby and that would allow him to be able to fall asleep around the same time that my baby took her first nap. #B#BabyT#ToddlerB#BabySleepT#ToddlerSleepF#FamilyTravel

I’m sharing this because after two long years of thinking my child would never sleep through the night- not only does she sleep 12 hour straight at night… But my husband can put her to sleep. 🤯 It’s no longer 100% on me. It’s no more hours of rocking. There’s no more breast-feeding to sleep. There’s rarely more wake ups in the middle of the night, and dad can finally respond and console. I truthfully, didn’t know when this day would come. There have been nights where I cried inconsolably, because I was in so much pain from rocking her to sleep for so long. Days when my nipples were so tender, I wanted to give up breast-feeding. Days where I was utterly exhausted after waking up 5+ times a night (or even years 😅) I feel like this weight has been lifted off me, a weight I knew existed but had no idea how heavy it was.
