When I was growing up I always hated exercise, hated PE (as I’m sure loads of us did 🫠) and basically couldn’t think of anything worse than doing any kind of fitness, sport was also heavily dominated by males at school. Something I am super passionate about since becoming a mum particularly to a daughter, is for her to grow up from a young age in an environment where she can see how positive and fun movement can be. (and that it’s not just for boys!!) I hope she’ll less likely view fitness as a negative like I did, I really believe if she relates exercise to a positive thing from a young age she’ll much more likely take it into her adult life with her, whatever form of movement she discovers she likes 🙌🏼✨ I am super thankful that at uni I found my love for weightlifting as it has helped me in SO many areas of my life as an adult. Mentally with anxiety, through pregnancy, birth + post birth, my productivity and drive in my career comes from feeling confident and fit too. I think it’s actually a lot more difficult to pick up fitness as a habit into your day to day later in life, and a reason a lot of adults struggle to stick to it when they try to start later on, so I’m super excited to create that environment in our home where she can see what a positive great thing being active really can be. ❤️

One of the most common and probably one of the scariest things you hear when pregnant (other than the neggy just you waits lol) is that “you’ll lose yourself once you become a mum.” Now don’t get me wrong, life does change, perspective, priorities, relationships, sleep, ALOT changes - I now fully stand by the fact that I not only birthed a baby, but I actually birthed a new version of me too. However, you will find yourself again. She’ll just be a bit different. And it’ll of course take different time periods for every woman to work out who they are again post birth, but you will. For atleast the first 6 months looking back I can see now how much of a whirlwind it was. I wasn’t sure how to identify as anything but ‘mum’ - was it okay to dress how I did before? (yes!) was it okay to spend time with friends still and be silly (big fat yes!!) + altho I continued to move my body as much as I could, I actually didn’t challenge myself or feel particularly motivated/excited about exercise at all. It’s only the last couple months I feel like I’m feeling myself again, just a slightly different version now I’m mama too. But what I can confidently say now is, I am way more head strong, more grounded, patient and appreciate the slower pieces of life. I’m me before but elevated. So to any mums out there who are struggling with identity postpartum, you will work it out, and you will very likely be a little different to before, but you can 100% be mum AND the pieces/hobbies that made up the you you were before too. You will find you again, a new version of you. 🩷

It can work out in the end, you WILL find better than that toxic relationship and you deserve SO much more. I spent 6 years in an up and down, hot and cold toxic relationship that left me with next to no confidence or self esteem. Until I found this guy, randomly ❤️ when i wasn’t looking whatsoever for another person, who respects me, loves me for me and we’re equal. Now 10 years later we’re married, seeing beautiful places with our gorgeous little human we created together. Trust the timing, don’t settle for less + remember you deserve love 🤍
