Our island building process! Kolter built the entire island himself! I showed him a photo of my “vision” and he built it perfectly! I absolutely love all of the drawers! We chose to do an all wood island! We wanted something that would be warm and timeless with an organic modern feel. ❤️ What do y’all think of how it turned out?😍 We actually used stock drawers from Home Depot. We sanded the white paint off the fronts and added new wooden drawer fronts! Then we built Columns for the sides, added some detail work, and stained everything a nice warm tone! Lasagna Soup Olive oil Medium onion diced 3 cloves of garlic minced 1lb ground beef Spices 1tsp of each: Salt, pepper, garlic powder, KFRED cajun seasoning,turmeric, minced dried garlic, oregano, parsley & basil. Jar marinara sauce 1 can fire roasted tomatoes 32oz chicken broth 1cup heavy whipping cream Box Lasagna pasta broken into pieces For cheese mixture: 1 Container ricotta cheese 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup Italian shredded cheese Salt, KFRED & garlic powder to taste mix well and set aside. Heat up 1-2tbs olive oil in large pot. Add diced onions, sauté for 6 to 7 minutes then add minced garlic, sauté for another minute or two then add ground beef and brown. Add seasonings mix well. Add in marinara sauce, chicken broth, fire roasted tomatoes & heavy cream mix well. Cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. Now you can Add in 3 heaping spoons of your cheese mixture mix well then add pasta. Lower heat, cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or until pasta is done. Serve and top with a spoon of cheese mixture. Y’all Come Eat!

DIY let’s remove a wall! This is one of my favorite projects to date! We had this wall between our kitchen and dining room and we decided to take it down ourselves!! Removing the wall made such a huge difference in these two rooms. It feels so much more airy now! We first removed all the sheet rock. Then we removed the studs. We also had some electrical outlets that had to be moved.. Next we had to install a new a cased opening. We had considered taking the wall flat to the ceiling but I wanted the cased opened between the two spaces. Then we had to fix the floor.. there was a giant hole in the floor where the wall was. We had to pull up all of the flooring in the dining room and add new flooring so it would all be connected.🫠 Then we added the molding around the cased opening and we painted! Then it was done!😍 I love open concept floor plans for a lot of reasons. One reason I love them is because we have kids. It gives them tons of room to run around and play. They even bring their little bikes inside to ride sometimes.🤣 The second reason I love an open concept home is because we have family over often. It just makes sense for entertaining to have it open. We can all mingle and hangout no matter which room you’re in.. If you’re cooking, eating, or sitting on the couch we can all still chat and hangout lol… And the third reason.. I just like the way it looks.
