I posted about helping introduce new legislation to protect kid influencers two weeks ago and another state representative reached out. 🥺 When I embarked on the #DearHollywood journey, my primary aim was to help young performers. 30 year old check-in 🙆🏻‍♀️ Sore, stiff, sedentary, and injured if I’m not intentional. Far less motivated by competition and more interested in longevity. The temptation and pressure to use “quick fixes” has shifted to genuinely preferring incremental, nonlinear, compassionate progress. (It’s also the only thing possible with my calendar and many commitments.) What’s 1 way that your attitude towards your body has shifted since your 20s (or younger years)? I think many people assume that folks who deconstruct their faith have 100% negative views of the church thereafter, and realistically, many of us are merely searching for a more integrated and expansive understanding compared to a previously narrow lens. Hot take: sometimes it's actually a decision of *faith* to unravel a worldview so you can engage with the Divine more fully. Nerd alert 🚨 there are some facinating research papers on the phenomenology of performing — in one moment, it can be embodied catharsis, and another, dissociative splitting. The brain regions activated and physiological reactions help signal what the real effect and impact are of "playing pretend," or keeping up a persona, for the individual.
