every door that closes means that you’re one step closer to finding an open one. here is your sign to keep going! every great person was told “no” many, many times <3 #fyp #college #success
tip #2: experience isn't just about jobs. don't underestimate the power of volunteer work, student organizations, or even side hustles. highlight transferable skills like communication, leadership, or problem-solving gained through these experiences. think outside the box! tip #3: quantify your achievements. numbers speak volumes! instead of just saying you "increased sales," mention by what percentage. did you "manage social media"? how much did engagement grow? show the impact you made, not just your responsibilities. tip #4: action verbs are your bffs. instead of saying you "were responsible for," use powerful verbs like "spearheaded," "developed," or "implemented." this makes your resume sound dynamic and highlights your initiative. tip #5: keep it concise and scannable. one page is your golden rule. use clear headings, bullet points, and white space to make it easy for recruiters to find what they're looking for. first impressions matter, so make sure it's polished and professional. tip #6: proofread like a pro! typos and grammatical errors are resume killers. get a friend (or the career center!) to proofread your resume with fresh eyes. you don't want a silly mistake to cost you your dream internship.
i’m sharing all of the best tips i’ve learned before i graduate in a month!! follow along for more advice and templates like this :) #fyp #internship #college
1. craft an airtight personal pitch: sometimes, introducing yourself is literally the most anxiety-inducing part. before you do ANY networking, write a short (30-second!) intro about yourself and your career goals. i have a super simple template you can use to write this in my linktree!! practice saying it out loud to a mirror, with friends, or even record yourself and watch it back. this way, you will nail it when you meet new people! 2. start small, conquer campus: college is full of networking opportunities! check out club meetings, info sessions, or career fairs. instead of scheduling cold calls with high-up professionals, first start by scheduling coffee chats on campus with upperclassmen in your major - as a senior myself, i always love sharing advice this way with younger students! 3. level up online: join online groups and forums related to your field. i run one called “Girls With Goals” that you can join through my linktree!! participate in discussions, ask questions, and even chat with other members. this lets you network from your dorm room and build confidence interacting with like-minded people before diving into face-to-face interactions. remember, networking is a skill, and everyone starts somewhere. by taking small steps, focusing on building real connections, and using both online and offline opportunities, you'll overcome your anxiety and become a confident networker, opening doors to exciting professional opportunities. you got this <3
