We can tell this once was a really loved house, but when we bought her she was mouldy and damp with broken fixtures, cracks and a fallen down ceiling to name some issues! We knew from the very beginning that we wanted to extend our house to build our dream home, I know many people think it’s a shame to change older buildings and we can understand why, but we are big believers that sometimes change is a good thing! There are so many benefits to how the house is now and we feel we are building a house that will work for us, for generations. We really wanted the style of the extension to be in keeping with the original house, and so when looking at the house it wouldn’t be completely obvious that it had been extended. One of the most important decisions we have yet to make.. What is it that they say about old houses? One step forward and two steps back!?
