What was the first thing you ate after liberation? The Soviets set up food kitchens, but there were a lot of issues. Prisoners’ bodies were not used to digesting so much food, and many of those who ate the soldiers’ food died later from dysentery and other illnesses. How did your experiences in the Shoah affect you when you first came to America? Because starvation was such an integral part of the camp system, I has some weird eating habits after the war. For example, no matter how much food there was, I always minimally only what I needed. They intimidate and harass students, prospective students, and administrators passing by. WashU should not stand for this.
