Baby steps make the process easier on everyone. Start out by giving praise, attention and appropriate high value treats when they show a positive or neutral reaction to potentially “scary” items like their travel carrier, towels, trimmers, etc. Every time they will get a little bit more comfortable. This parrot was just adopted from a rescue and the new owners noticed that there was something a little bit unusual going on with his beak. If left uncorrected, the projection on his lower beak will continue to grow upwards and make it difficult for him to eat.
