At first glance, Pine Siskins resemble a female House Finch with their stripey body, but look closer and you'll notice more: the distinctive yellow stripe on and under their wings, their trademark lonnng and pointy beak, and their compact size (same size as an American Goldfinch)! . . . This was my first non-fieldwork encounter with Pine Siskins, and I was in tears! Everything was fully on their terms, which brought out their true, bubbly personalities. I think I'm in love! . . .
