Palesa Mofokeng, 33, was shot to death on her way to work in Vanderbijlpark on 5 April 2024. It is alleged that she was driving to the school where she worked when an assassin opened fire towards her car on the robots adjacent to Curro and North-West University, Vaal Campus. Palesa had multiple bullet wounds on her body and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. One day after the brutal incident, four men, including her ex-husband, who is a medical doctor, were arrested in connection with the murder. Yolanda Bianca Khuzwayo was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in her flat in Durban on 31 March 2024. Yolanda, who was a police officer, was allegedly pregnant at the time of the horrific incident. It is alleged that her boyfriend, 27, who is also a metro police officer and colleague of Yolanda, stabbed her to death in her flat. The suspect then took videos and pictures of Yolanda taking her last breath and distributed those to several people, as well as posted them on social media. The suspect then stole Yolanda’s phone and fled the scene. He was handed over to the police by his family a few hours later and appeared in court on charges of premeditated murder and theft. The matter was postponed to 9 April for his bail application. Dr Zamambo Siphokazi Mkhize, 39, lifeless body was found stuffed into the boot of her car in Imbali, Pietermaritzburg, on 22 March 2024. It is alleged that her husband got worried when his wife did not return from work or answer her phone. After speaking to Zamambo’s family and the tracking company of his wife’s car, the husband decided to open a missing case. At 8pm the same night, SAPS found Zamambo’s vehicle abandoned on the J18 in Imbali, just 3km from her workplace. When the family arrived at the scene, they found her lifeless body in the boot. Zamambo was allegedly shot in the head, and it appeared that she had been assaulted, as she had a bruised and swollen eye. Her handbag and her cell phone were missing from the car. South African police are investigating a case of two nine-year-old boys who allegedly raped a girl, 3, in Ngwenani ya ha Themeli in Limpopo on 10 March 2024. It is alleged that the little girl was playing with other children that day, but when she was back home with her family, she complained about discomfort in her private areas. The girl allegedly disclosed to her mother that two boys did something to her private parts while playing with her. The mother immediately sought medical assistance, and following an examination, the doctor confirmed the sexual assault. Ongeziwe Kamlana, 17, lifeless body was found burned beyond recognition in Kuils River, Cape Town. She was last seen in Gugulethu on 17 February 2024 while she was on her way to extra classes at her school in the same area. While a search for Ongeziwe was ongoing, the body of a deceased person was burned beyond recognition inside a bungalow at a premises in Jagtershof, Kuilsrivier. After DNA testing was concluded, SAPS confirmed that the body that was found belonged to Ongeziwe. Police arrested a man, 28, on 3 March 2024, but the Blue Down’s Magistrates Court has since granted the accused’s application to be released on bail of R1000 ($50). The suspect, in his late 30s, was known to Nthabiseng as he had stayed with the family before.
