DAY 1 PART 2 More from my travels to South Africa today. 🛬🇿🇦✨🕌🌙 What’s the highlight of your first day? Mine was meeting one of my followers on my flight! It always amazes me where I get recognized and thinking about it like… this was written and always meant for us. The world is so big, the odds of running into someone you’re even trying to bump into is so small, but when it’s written— it’s inevitable. I always plan and want control but am working on my responses to things not going my way or how I planned. There’s a lot of happiness to experience in the unknown. There’s a lot of khair in delays and unexpected changes. I just keep telling myself Allah has a plan and there’s barakah in everything. Negatives are positives too. 😊✨🤲🏼 My other highlight is that it’s summer here in Cape Town bc I love warm weather. ☀️🌴 I also didn’t realize they have palm trees here!! I feel like they look diff from the ones in Cali, it’s fun experiencing my fav things in new ways. QURAN REFLECTIONS I honestly can’t believe it but this is my 6th Ramadan!! SubhanAllah alhamdulillah 🤲🏼✨ What Im realizing is that the more you read and learn over time, the more new things pop out at you when you read the Quran. Since a lot do you are brand new and reading it for you for the first time, I wanted to make a list of a few things that I wish I would’ve known before cuz it makes it easier to understand it & puts things in context. 1. The Quran is God’s words revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through arch angel Gabriel (Jibreel). 2. Arch angel Gabriel visited Muhammad ﷺ on jabal Nur (a mountain by the Kaaba) and revealed it over a span of 23+ years. 3. Once all the revelations were done, the Quran was rearranged (per Allah’s instruction) and put into a specific order. This means the passages were not revealed in the same order we read it in. 4. In English translations, they will often times use “Us” or “We” to refer to God instead of using feminine or masculine words like he/she. This doesn’t mean there’s more than 1, it’s just a respect to not liken God to being man or woman. 5. Since the Quran was revealed over so many years, you have to take into consideration the historical timeline and that Muhammad ﷺ was getting revelations and trying to spread the word while simultaneously going through struggles with the disbelievers— who tried to stop him & even kill him. 6. In a of the passages, God is speaking directly to Muhammad ﷺ and that’s why passages will say things as if God is speaking directly to the him like: “Say O Prophet “l am only a man like you, but it has been revealed to me that your God is only one God.’” 18:110 God was giving the Prophet ﷺ actual instructions and was guiding him in real time as things were happening in his life. 7. The word Allah is Arabic and it cannot be changed into plural/ male/ female. That’s why using the word Allah is better than God because God can be changed to gods, goddessss, godly, etc. It gives the upmost respect to the Almighty. That’s it for now! SOUTH AFRICA NEEDS YOU 🇿🇦🍛 This Ramadan I’m fundraising for our brothers and sisters in South Africa. The reality is that there’s families who live here without running water, electricity, and food. They hike all the way down the hill (in the end of the video) to try to find resources and then have to carry it all the way back up to the top. Today I saw a pregnant woman pushing a stroller up the dirt hill with her 3 young children in tow! Luckily today we were dropping supplies for her family and she didn’t have to go all the way back up empty handed as happens when she can’t find adequate supplies. 🥺 It makes me sad to see the conditions people live in around the world, but I’m grateful Allah put me in the position to be able to help & use my platforms to make a difference in their lives. 🙏🏽✨ A $50 donation will feed a family for the entire month of Ramadan.
