Whenever I use torque sticks, my comment section is full of hate for them; mostly with comments saying how they either "don't work", or are "a waste of time". I argue that they actually SAVE you time, because they allow you to use power tools to tighten your lug nuts quickly - without over tightening them - before you lower the vehicle and hand-torque the wheels. I highly recommend these for all new techs OR for when you purchase a new tool you are unfamiliar with, or switch air compressors. I have had this impact for over a decade, and I've been in this shop with the same consistent air supply pressure for over 2 years, so truth be told, I know my tool well enough to know how to quickly install my wheel nuts or bolts below torque spec by now, so at this point I have outgrown these. I'm sure many seasoned techs can relate to this. But when you're first starting out, or you're making a change, this tool can save you a ton of time and hassle, and prevent damage to customer cars. If it's REALLY bad, then yes you can remove the throttle body and clean it from the backside too, but you really shouldn't have to. Plus, then you have to buy a new gasket. I like to be as least invasive as possible. Also, move the throttle plate VERY SLOWLY as you open it. This video is sped up quite a bit. I tell people "You should not hear it make a sound when you move it" - if you hear the little motor inside you're moving too fast. .
