If you are one of them, no shame in it! I mean, you’ve got some strength 😎. But if you want real functional strength, being able to perform a proper squat is a step towards achieving it. You can improve with this by prioritizing a good warm-up and cooldown stretch routine (scan through my page, you’ll find a few you can do). Doing this will increase your range of motion, allowing you to easily perform exercises that require functional movements. It’s great to be able to lift heavy 😎 But if you want functional strength, especially from being able to lift and control bodyweight, you want to incorporate a few bodyweight exercises into your training. You can begin with an 80:20 ratio, meaning 80% weighted exercises and 20% bodyweight exercises. A good example would be for every 6 exercises you do, have at least 2 of them be bodyweight.
