There’s no better way to bring out the circus than to post home repairs on the internet. Our skylight was leaking because skylight’s will inevitably leak so we replaced it. It’s really not a hard job just lots of specific steps and if you think I missed something, I condensed the entire install into two and a half minutes so I had to cut a lot. As for the narration I don’t know this just fell out of my brain. I’m really happy with these notebooks. It took some learning but they’re finally together. I wasn’t able to make a lot of them for this drop but I’m definitely going to expand in the near future. Hardest part is stabilizing the covers so they don’t warp. Using plywood fixes the issue but I want to be able to do smaller runs with actual hardwood covers. I think this whole adulting thing is a millennial stereotype at this point. I don’t know. We’re all just white knuckling our way through the absurd hellscape trying to find pockets of air to take a breath. But this lamp I made is pretty great though. Making these dumb little bookmarks is one of my favorite things to make in the shop. I just really enjoy making things that require this level of manipulation of the wood that I start with. Im going to be restocking these on Friday. I changed some of the design. Instead of mitered corners I switched to tongue and groove. And instead of birch plywood I went with cabinet grade cherry. That last large lamp I made I felt was too wide so I decided to do a tall skinny one and it’s much nicer. I designed one panel and my wife did the other. Wanted to go with a tree limb thing that was kind of tricky to pull off but it ended up working out. Filmed this one differently with a lot of natural light and then about halfway through I actually figured out how to make it look decent. As for the rambling I don’t know. It’s kind of scattered and the self hatred monster is making me despise it but I’ll just put it out there because it’s better to do that than internally combust. #society #government #legislation #existentialism #politics #community #fyp
