My new linocut is finally ready and I've decided to call it "Hour of the Bird". It's my first reduction print, meaning you use one linoleum block to create a multi-colored print by gradually carving away more of the block between each color application. This was also the first time I printed red over gold. I had no idea how that would turn out, but I was positively surprised to see how the gold ink at the bottom shines through the red ink, giving it a beautiful shine and depth. #linocut #printmaking #artwork #floral #peony #birdart #handmade
