It’s not enough to simply treat sickness. Definitely we need to do that, with universal healthcare via an improved Medicare for All. But we have to do more than that, too. We have to deal with the fact that the U.S. has a higher level of chronic illness than do advanced countries. We need policies that proactively create a healthcare society. An economic system should serve the people; the people should not live our lives in service to an economic system.
