Most people know that sleep is incredible valuable for your mental health and overall energy, but not all people understand how important it is for reducing pain and risk for injury. If you don’t give your body the restorative sleep is requires, then risk for obesity, high blood pressure, high glucose levels, and other unfavorable health markers goes up dramatically. As a result, systemic inflammation will increase and the likelihood for things like joint pain, nerve pain, chronic pain, musculoskeletal injury, etc. all become more prevalent. These are all things that Chiropractic care and other alternative therapies can certainly help manage, but they come with a cost and often aren’t a solution entirely. Obviously there are going to be times when life gets in the way and adequate sleep is not possible OR if you have a diagnosable condition that make sleep very challenging. BUT…for more people getting more sleep per night is VERY doable if it’s simply positioned as a higher priority.
