Save for later!🙌🏼 If you are new to wigs, then this is for you! When you first start trying to figure out the whole wig thing, it is extremely confusing. 🫤 You just feel like you’re running around in the dark with no clue what you’re even trying to look for. The majority of women who want to wear wigs are typically looking for a wig that doesn’t look like a wig. A wig that looks natural! So, when you’re searching, try to look for some of these features! I like to have at LEAST 2 of these features present on a wig. 1) Lace Front- this allows you to pull the hair off of your face while giving you the illusion of it growing from your hairline 2) Monofilament Top- this allows you to part your hair in any way while still making it look like the hair is growing out of your head. ***An alternative to this could be a monofilament part. This gives you the same illusion of scalp but only gives you about an inch of parting space instead of your whole head. This will save you a bit of money. 3) Hand tied cap- this is a very comfortable cap and gives the hair a more realistic movement. These are going to be more expensive due to the labor intensive work it takes to make them. 4) Low Density- this refers to the amount of hair on a wig. This is more of a personal preference. I just feel like less hair looks more natural on my face. However many women may prefer having a higher density as that may be what they are used to. What is your favourite feature on a wig?! Where are my pixie gals at?! 🧚 Take a look at these 2 super short pixie cuts by Ellen Wille. Although they can both be a very basic look, my favourite part about them is how much fun they can be when you play around with the styling. So unassumingly funky!! 🤩 Although their caps and styles are pretty similar, Yoko will be a bit more textured and the nape will be a bit shorter than Risk. Julianne Lite is such a dream 🥰 I shared this wig yesterday but got a lot of interest so I wanted to make sure I answered some questions that came up! The quality and comfort of these lite caps are amazing. 🤩 Just know that you may find the lace front to be a bit long and extend too far down your forehead. You may feel you want to trim it back a little bit. You also may find you want to use adhesive to glue down your ear tabs so the lace lays flatter there. Something else to note is the darker the fiber, the more visible the knots will be. The lighter the fiber, the less visible! The scalp will look more real if you have something beige or the color of your skin underneath. I am wearing a beige coloured bamboo wig cap under the wig. You could also use some silicone wig tape at your part line to help give a more natural appearance of scalp. Overall, these caps are incredibly natural and a beautiful choice if you have the funds to invest in them as they are a bit pricier. Would you try Julianne Lite?! Can you swim with a wig on?! You bet!! I don’t want you guys to be living life on the sidelines just because you think your wig is going to come off. Get out there and give it a try!! Here are just a few things to consider: 1) wear a wig grip for added security 2) choose synthetic over human hair 3) tie your hair back so it doesn’t get too tangly. This will also help the wig to feel more secure. 4) cannon balls or dives are at your own discretion. Haters gonna hate. And you can either let them get to you, or tune them out. Boy oh boy, did I ever let them get to me in the beginning of my hairloss journey. It’s not that there were very many of them, but even just ONE negative comment about my hairloss was enough to set me back. What I’ve understood now is that the world is mostly made up of good people who truly don’t care about whether or not you’ve lost your hair. Ever so often, the bad eggs get through but I try to remember that the comments they say to me are a reflection of their own insecurities, not a reflection of me.
