The middle part of our pacific crossing from Mexico to French Polynesia. After a week at sea, we began to settle into some kind of routine, and all the days began to blend together. It was incredible to spend so much time surrounded by nature, with no distractions. Our third and final week of sailing across the Pacific! A few days after crossing the equator, we noticed a dark cloud on the horizon. The squall brought wind and rain, and as soon as it finished, we noticed another one lurking behind it. This seemingly never ending succession of bad weather lasted for four days, until the sky cleared, and we had a few glorious days of sailing before reaching the Marquesas. We spotted the beautiful island of Fatu Hiva after 23 days at sea. It was surreal to be staring at land again, and we couldn’t take our eyes off it. This is just the start of our journey in the South Pacific. Sailing across the Pacific day 7! After a whole week at sea, we were barely a quarter of the way into the crossing. We used the northeast trade winds to push us towards the equator and the southern hemisphere. Day 14 of sailing across the Pacific. We were in the middle of the doldrums and should have been becalmed, but somehow the wind never died, and it carried us all the way into the southern hemisphere.
