Everyone, I’d like for you to meet Hasten! 🦔 I purchased this lil’ guy from The Dummy Shoppe last Summer at the Ventriloquist Convention. I currently have around 15 different puppets, but all you guys see are Aidan and Crush the most, so I’m going to be better about posting content on here with all my other characters too. Hasten’s accent and voice is still a work in progress. I’ve noticed while practicing that hints of Aidan’s voice come out, so I’m still working on making a definite distinction between the two voices. There’s a lot of work that goes into character development! I’ve had Hasten for 9 months now, and he’s still a work in progress. 15 months of training in 35 seconds… 🤯 Goes to show that if you’re committed to changing something, you might just surprise yourself with what you’re capable of to make it happen. Fun Fact: I got into powerlifing for a few reasons & one of those reasons being to improve my leg strength after tearing my ACL for a second time while skiing in December 2020. I knew I needed to improve my quad and overall leg strength, but never really did anything about it to improve it…hence the 2nd tear. Recovery from my second knee surgery, Feb. 2021, was ROUGH. (My patellar tendon pain never really went away completely until December 2022). However, once my knee was FULLY recovered from surgery & I graduated PT, I started watching YouTube videos on Powerlifting and strength training. My legs are now the strongest they have ever been (& I have NO knee pain). If you would have told me that I’d be squatting 319lbs a year-ish after getting into this sport, I would have laughed. I’ve been talking about making content using the puppets to talk about health, safety, fitness, and nutrition in a funny/educational way & I’M FINALLY posting a video later today that does just that. My entire lifestyle has changed because of this sport & I hope that this video might just inspire someone out there to make the change you’ve been talking about doing — in whatever area of your life that may be. #motivation #GymTok #powerlifting #strength
