I know we’re supposed to just be playing songs, but sometimes the banter really is my favorite part of the show. These organic unscripted moments happen every single night. Sometimes they work sometimes they go off the rails. But i do think it allows people a glimpse of what it’s like to be in a band with your sibling.
I remember when Sara wrote this song. I was living in Montreal for a few months. Sara would work at her apartment and I would work in her office. We are writing songs for the con and she sent a demo of this song over. It was very sad and slow. I thought we should make it more poppy speed it up. We eventually did. But this acoustic reworked version reminds me a lot of her original demo.
There’s a whole world backstage that’s happening while the audience is arriving to the show. Here’s a little sneak peek of me badgering and driving everyone nuts.

I covered one of my favorite Sara songs from our album If It Was You. The song is called underwater. Sara admitted on stage the other night that she actually hates this song and thinks it might be problematic. Its not. She annotated the entire song which made it about seven minutes long. Which in my opinion is problematic. Here’s a clip.
Just got to Ottawa! So happy to be here! Can’t wait to play tonight. Doors are at 6, @Becca Mancari is on at 7 and we hit the stage at 8. My favorite new merchandise item is the icon shirt. Designed by Emy Storey and available tonight. Don’t forget to stop by the table if you want to be covered in all your favorite Canadian things.
