We talk about it so much but we really do believe in fostering an environment where goalkeepers have the courage to take risks, explore, & make mistakes. Why? Because when GKs feel free to try new things without fear of failure, true growth happens! They learn together, support each other, and most importantly, they have FUN! This is what we love when the guys train together. Everyone is on the same page and they all do things with intent! They support and encourage each other to try things. They’ll discuss things together. We’re so proud to see it. Here’s a few reasons why we want to see Mistakes / Goals / Consequences in our sessions: 1. Goals: GKs need to face shots that are really trying to beat them or expose any little mistakes in positioning / execution. You can’t save everything! 2. ⁠Consequences: although we want GKs to try things, there has to be a consequence to create a little extra pressure but also to give you feedback to whether you have made the best decision 3. ⁠Mistakes: If you want to know how to deal with mistakes in games, you need to be given the opportunity to do so in training. 4. ⁠Make mistakes during match like / situational training to reduce the chances of them from happening in matches. Accept that they will happen and each is an opportunity to learn.
