If you try to practice patience as a teacher and let kids mess up maybe you have to give speeches like this every other day or every week... BUUUUT think about all the extra teaching time you get in between the speeches. . . They're kids... they're going to do the wrong thing, they're going to say the wrong thing, they're not going to make the best choices every time... but we can give them the space to try to be better and the rationale behind what we tell them and what we're asking them to do... . . How can we ask them to be perfect if we're not perfect. . . Even this speech is imperfect... and i am sure i will have a fine tuned / or maybe even completely different version of this speech two years from now. . . As teachers, we have to leave our ego's at the door and let kids be kids as we try to help them become good humans. . .
