#stitch with @Leanne Is sudocream a good option for oily acne skin? I dont believe so. I think sudocream has a place for a skin that is really lacking a barrier. Dry and inflamed. Think nappy rash. Many skins with acne have high oil flow and would be better suited to barrier creams with dimethicones as these have been studied heavily to be non-comedogenic, provide a barrier without trapping oil. Zinc has proven wonderful in acne managment and can be found in so much skincare. Some practioners may even prescribe this to you. There are so many ways to build up an impaired barrier with acne and this is one I just would’nt recommend. I used to pop vit e and a capsules over 15 years ago. I think this is gentle and okay for many skin types. Oily to very oily skin could do this as a once off pre event 1-2 times a month. All of our bodies can benefit. Vit E is an antioxidant that helps with so many things. The only skin who may struggle would be eczema, rosacea or those triggered by scents or high occlusions. I know @Tay isnt alone in retinoid reactions from Kmart retinol. This is quite severe. We can take from her difficult experience and learn from it. When using retinol it’s important to understand your skin type and conditions if you have them. It’s important to go slow in the begining. Less is more. It’s important to nourish your barrier and pull back if you see any dryness. If you push through the skin doesnt always cope. This is why I said a retinol from the Kmart skincare line is one I wouldnt pick. Retinols need to be well formulated.
