ROSEWATER BIRTHDAY CAKE 🎂 im 32!! Lets bake a cake!! This is based off of Domestic Gothess’ Persian Lovecake recipe, but with a bunch of foraged twists!!
Replying to @Keri #greenscreen if you get a reaction after picking a ton of QAL its a much higher chance that: A. You have a sensitivity to it! B. You picked Poison Hemlock or another touchy apiaceae member by mistake! C. You got a ton of its gently phototoxic sap on your skin and stayed in the sun for too long after!
Plastic confetti will take thousands (maybe even millions) of years to break down and releases microplastic particles into the wild pls don’t be that person!!!
🍉 what a great day to donate to an org to help folks on the ground in gaza! @Operation Olive Branch has a bunch theyve vetted, and there are also orgs like @AneraOrg and @World Central Kitchen that are still getting meals and living supplies to people despite the attacks! COW PARSNIP! My girl! Who is often maligned! Leave her alone!!
#ad PINCH ME!!!! 🥹🫧 My FIRST EVER COLLECTION with @blueland is finally here!! It’s been a wild year and half—from smelling countless samples to picking the colors for the tin and flying all the way to North Carolina for a photoshoot in the flower meadows of Asheville, we’ve put so much love and energy into creating three limited edition scents that truly embody the joy of foraging. Foraging is more than just gathering and eating plants. It’s an act of gratitude, connection, and a reminder that it’s up to us to take care of the planet and appreciate nature’s gifts. I’m so excited to finally share this with you all and after almost two years of secrets finally get to say..... SHOP THE FORAGED COLLECTION ON www.blueland.com!!! (or use the link in my bio) 💛
POKE SALLET / SALLIT / SALAD - a dish that shows up in indigenous, african american, appalachian, and rural southern culture using pokeweed, phytolacca americana. Poisonous when raw, but thankfully its toxic components are water soluble and/or heat sensitive! I always loved the pokeweed plants in my Grammy and Grandad’s backyard, and once in passing they mentioned a dish from their younger years using the early shoots before they wete too dangerous to eat. It took until ny 20’s, after their passing, to finally have some poke sallet for myself and it felt like a little thread of connection being threaded between me and my grandparents, even though they’re gone 💚
