The NOISES 😆 Cindy Lou Who was brought to my local shelter at just a few days old without a mom and was in rough shape. I bottle fed her and she recenty weaned onto canned food. Sometimes, kittens will do what we call “meat nursing,” where they try to suckle the wet food instead of actually eating it. That’s why it’s so important to weigh your kittens! It can seem like they’re eating, but they’re actually just doing whatever this is 😅 Thankfully, she does eat normally most of the time, she just has her moments of doing this! #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #fosterkittens #rescue

Everyone please welcome my newest and teeniesttttt house guest, Thumbelina 🌷🧚‍♀️ Despite how well she is doing now, she has a very sad backstory. A good samaritan took in a cat who gave birth before they even knew she was pregnant. Everything seemed to go well with the birth, but just a couple days later, the mama became critically ill. The owners rushed her to the vet, but by the time they arrived, it was too late for her 💔 It turns out that she had a 4th kitten still inside of her that she had been unable to birth. Because of this, the poor mom had become septic and succumbed to the infection; there was nothing anyone could do. The owners did everything they could to care for the three orphaned kittens, but two passed away in quick succession. They wanted the best for the remaining kitten and put out a plea for help. I agreed to take the kitten and they were immensely grateful. Cat birth is extremely dangerous and it is one of the reasons I believe that a cats should never be allowed to have kittens if it can be prevented. Even if that means terminating the pregnancy, which can be done right up until labor. It’s one of the harder parts of rescue, but losing a beloved pet is even harder. The owners feel massive guilt, though they did everything in their power to help the mom and kittens. Please let Thumbelina and her departed mom + siblings be a reminder to spay and neuter your pets ❤️‍🩹 #fyp #foryou #fy #kittensoftiktok #fosterkittens
