Seasonal living has accidently become a pattern for us since starting vanlife and getting so much more immersed in the wild 🌸 The pagan wheel of the year is something we’ve gravitated towards in our quest to feel a deeper connection to the earth and it’s rhythms 🌿 We've never actively celebrated the 8 pagan festivals but we are going to try to from now on 🧚‍♂️✨️ Beltane marks the halfway point between the Spring equinox and Summer solstice and is such an exciting time of year with the return of familiar plants and pollinators 🐝 Traditionally May Day was a big old party outdoors with a huge bonfire that everyone attended. It was a time for optimism and gratitude and to enjoy all the pleasures of being alive 🔥💕 Another tradition in the morning of Beltane is to wet your face with morning dew, especially any that has collected on hawthorn flowers as it’s supposed to bring you beauty. The painting that became our Apothecary Tapestry 🎨🧵 If you'd like one of these, they're only available until April 6th, after that we won't be weaving anymore for the next couple of years 🌸 I don’t know how but it took me around 3 weeks to paint this with my teensy tiny brush haha! 😂 Slowness seems to be a recurring theme in our lives but we hope it was calming to watch the process 💕 This design was inspired by all the medicinal plants that our ancestors healed with for thousands of generations before modern civilisation came about. How we spent winter in our cabin on wheels ❄️🕯 We’ve not been online much whatsoever the last couple of months whilst we were camping under spruce trees blanketed in thick snow. Just like little woodland creatures cozy in our burrow, we were resting deeply and hibernating from the world until the first signs of spring began to show. 🌲 Usually we get frustrated with our energy levels during this season as we push to be productive through the coldest, darkest days. This year we decided to listen to our bodies instead and truly give seasonal living a try. It was strange at first but eventually the urge to be busy subsided, replaced by a slower pace. Wintering for us meant extremely long nights of sleep, forest walks wading through knee high snow, indulgent home cooked meals in our tiny home and reading under candlelight. 🌨🍝 Now with spring equinox here, it’s time to start planting the seeds of the dreams we brewed during our hibernation season. 🌱 #cozycore #howlsmovingcastle #cottagecore

We spent winter offline wild camping deep in the mountains and running free in the snow 🚌❄️ Days were spent building unamused snowmen, sledging whilst Lufie runs along side and eating extremely comforting food straight from the pan. ☃️ Some day, decades from now, memories of these times getting snowed in and shovelling our way out of forest car parks will bring us a little chuckle. Vanlife definitely isn’t smooth sailing in the snow but honestly we’ve never had so much fun, it felt like we were 5 years old again.
