One time we had a client picking his dog up from his neuter procedure. When the owner saw his dog he immediately stated “Where are his balls?? What happened to his balls?!” We then had to confirm the dog was there for a neuter (even though we go over everything before we bring your pet back to our sugical area🙃) which he confirmed he was there for a neuter. Confused we asked the owner what he thought the neuter would look like after the procedure was done. The owner stated he thought his balls would still be there because he thought it was like a human vasectomy. Its crazy that I still have to explain why we charge for nail trims. Let me tell you, explaining to a client why we have to charge for a service that they cant do themselves at home, makes my brain hurt🙂 99% of the time it takes 2 people to complete a nail trim (safely). We usually have someone restraining, someone trimming, and for the difficult ones someone is usually trying to help distract. Thats 2-3 staff memebers who’s time is spent on your pet. My unpopular opinion on dog parks 🙂 So many things can happen. We dont know who is properly vaccinated. Who has intestinal parasites? Who has behavioral issues? Most people dont understand their dogs or any dogs body language- do your research! Ive seen so many dog bites/injuries come from dog parks! If you’re looking to get your dog socialized- try doggie daycare!
