Hack Squat Tips The hack squat allows us to challenge the quad in that mid to lengthened range in a very stable environment. Our contact points for stability would be the hip locking into the back pad and the heels forcing down into the platform. As for foot positioning, we want them to be placed as low on the platform as possible to maximise the amount of knee flexion achievable (think about lengthening the quads). However if you go too far down to where you surpass the ankles range of motion, your heels will start elevating and you miss out on a great deal of stability and limit our capacity to increase the intensity. So no more bobbing, more squatting.
