Here’s the answer you’ve been looking for 👇🏻 Why do I pull these giant blocks of ice out instead of pushing them under.? Well, there’s several reasons. With the main one being safety. By pulling the ice blocks out and replacing them back in the hole, it ensures the ice will freeze up much faster after we leave for the day. Leaving the ice block on top of the ice can be dangerous for snowmobiles. Especially after a light dusting of snow where all of this will become invisible. Another option may be to push the ice blocks underneath, but this may cause incoming fish to be Leary and spook easier. It would also make replacing the blocks impossible after we leave, causing a large hole to remain in the ice. So now you know why I do it this way, and no matter what method you choose, always mark your hole with a giant stick at the end of the day. #fishing #icefishing #spearfishing #minnesota #canada
