I love it when the sun is out for longer during the day time, especially since I rely on natural lighting to film most of my videos! 😮‍💨 (does anyone have recommendations for good indoor lighting for filming??) Is anyone else this excited? Or just me?? 😂🤪 Sprinkles are made with royal icing and my sprinkle stencils! This was a 3part stencil! 1st the face, then the circle, then the sun rays! If you have leftover royal icing, making sprinkles is an awesome way to use it up so that it doesn’t go to waste!! ☺️ After doing a set of cookies I’m usually left with a little bit of icing leftover. If it’s not enough to store in the freezer to save for later, I’ve been getting into the habit of making sprinkles with it!! 😄 The sprinkles last a longgg time if you just store them and make sure they stay dry, plus they taste soo much better than store bought sprinkles. So it’s always nice to have some basic shapes on hand in all different types of colors so you can make a quick sprinkle mix when you need it ^^ After making the round confetti shape sprinkle stencil, I wanted to try more tiny sprinkles so here are some heart confetti ones 🤏🥹😍 should I make more tiny designs? 👀who knows what these little creatures are from??! I like to use in between a medium and stiff consistency for it. If the icing is too thick, it may stick to the stencil too much. If it’s too thin then it’ll lose shape easierrr The stencils are 3d printed! making some tiny sprinkles! 🤏🥺💞 I get lots of comments asking why would someone make their own sprinkles when you can buy them and avoid the hassle so I just wanted to give some reasons why: -They taste so much better than store bought sprinkles!!! And the texture is better too imo!! -You control ingredients that are being used, whether you wanna color the icing with natural dyes, or make sure that the ingredients suit specific dietary needs. -customize the colors to your exact needs! For those of us who decorate desserts, sometimes there’s a specific color pallet for orders, so being able to make sprinkles to match perfectly always adds a fun and special touch! -it actually doesn’t take long at all to make them. Made some ice cream shaped sprinkles! 🍦😍 To get the multiple colors just pipe a line of icing over each section with their color and then scrape across! ♡ Sprinkles were made with royal icing and my 3d printed sprinkle stencils! I wanted a version that was open on the sides so that you could see the whole cookie while they’re hung up! 🥰 There’s the regular size (the one I’m using in this vid) which is perfect for cookies 3.5”-4” tall. Next time for sure 😆😋 The 3d printed stencils are something I came up with bc when I used regular ones the sprinkles were always too thin and they would break really easily. So I made some stencils with my 3d printer so that I could control the depth! 3d printed piping tips?? 🤔 I couldn’t find a piping tip in this shape and size so I figured I’d try to make my own for a fun experiment 😆 it worked better than I was expecting!
