Just because someone can mask their autism, it doesn’t mean that they don’t face real internal struggles. I share these videos not for people to pity me. I am fine. I have support. But I share these videos to help the world better understand the full autistic experience, which at times is extremely challenging. #highmaskingautism #highfunctioningautism #autism #asd #adultautism #latediagnosedautistic #autistic #autisticexperiences #neruodivergent
What a long journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance this has been… and it’s only beginning. 💛 #autism #latediagnosedautistic #adultautism #autistic #neurodivergent #HealingJourney
Stimming is necessary for us! It’s a way to soothe, regulate, cope, and express. Stimming is like needing to scratch an itch but a whole body itch… one that will cause your mind and body to feel like it’s going to explode if you can’t scratch it My most common and favorite stims are echolalia/repeating sounds, jumping up and down, spinning, listening to the same song over and over really loud, and playing with my fingers, but I always catch myself stimming in different ways depending on my environment When I’m outside of my house, I tend to mask my stims much more and I’ll just hum, fidget with my hands, or shake my leg and foot. #stimming #autism #neurodivergent #stim #autistic #autisticadults #neuroaffirming #neurodiversity

On days like today, being in my body just feels so extremely uncomfortable. Every sound, every smell, every texture… all just feel too painful. I’m sharing this not for sympathy (I’m fine, I deal with this all the time), but to show some of the more challenging aspects of the autistic experience. If you have any ways to help regulate, I’m more than open to hearing in the comments. 🙏🏽

The Autism label doesn’t define me. Instead it actually desrcibes me pretty well and provides language to the things I never had words for. 🙏🏽♾️💛 #autism #asd #neurodivergent #neurodivergenttiktok #neurodivergence #healing #MentalHealth #mentalheathawarness #autistic #latediagnosedautistic
Because of my autism, many of the things that seem so simple and easy for everyone else can feel extremely difficult for me. Overwhelm by my senses, confusion in social settings, and the rigidity of my brain are just a few examples. This can lead to me feeling shame for myself, which is something I’m working through every day.💛 #autism #autisticadult #actuallyautistic #neurodivergent #neurodiversity #autistic #latediagnosedautistic
