Korea is still a male dominant society for sure, but that doesn’t automatically equal misogynistic. I’ve met girls in Seattle who would consider me paying for dinner, opening a car door, or suggesting that they dress up for an upscale event is misogynistic and controlling. Many behaviors you may consider as misogynistic may be cultural norm or even preferred by women in Korea.
