If you’re new here, we increased our son’s allowance to accommodate charging “mock expenses” We wanted our kids to be well prepared when they get to adulthood and a large portion of that is learning how to manage expenses. To answer some common questions: 1. We give the boys $6 weekly for their chores and responsibilities around the house 2. $3 each month is expected to go toward their expenses, the rest we help them manage toward various categories (spending, saving, giving, investing) 3. We started doing this around age 6! Depending on the age and readiness of your child, you could do this a little younger or older! You know your child best 🥰 4.
