i’ve been innactive but i’ve been busyyyyyy, also i’d like to let everyone know that the boygenius prints and stickers will be available again very soon 💗💗💗

i moved to brazil, from oman, (for context i was born in australia) when i was 11 years old and have spent the last 10 years of my life here. i have a really complicated relationship with brazil. the drastic change in scenery at such a young age really confused me as a kid. all of a sudden everything i had gathered about life and people in my 11 years of existence was challenged from trying to fit in with completely different lifestyles and mindsets. the struggle to express myself in portuguese really frustrated me, especially since there were no english speaking people in the area i lived, which resulted in me completely shutting down and isolating myself from everyone (which lead to me finding peace in art). eventually things got better, but, even though my mom is brazilian and i’ve lived here for 10 years, i’ve struggled to embrace the brazilian culture as my own. i still very much have impostor syndrome 😁 with all that being said, i have learned to love brazil and appreciate everything it has to offer. i’m working on embracing my experiences so i’m really excited to include Brazilian things in my art, as simple as that sounds, just know this is a big character development moment for me😁😁🇧🇷🇧🇷
