Backstory: she had a substitute teacher who didn’t appreciate her daily quota requirment 💀

A vidro 30 something years in the making 🥹 yesterday I met my brother after being separated most of our lives…it was unreal. Backstory: We (my sister brittney and I ) looked for our brother for years and years. We were separated when we were younger due to foster care and adoption. Brittney and I were moved to each foster home together so that’s how we were able to stay in each other’s lives over the years. We were separated after I was adopted at 8, but with the efforts of my adoptive parents, we never lost contact thank God. As far as Nicholas goes, we thought maybe he had changed his name, maybe he was adopted and some days we thought maybe he just wasn’t alive any more. We would search on social media for him often and even had a private investigator looking for him at one point with no luck. Until last month when I opened my email and saw a message from him on ancestry dna. It was like an out of body experience reading his message after all of these years. Yesterday was surreal and we just spent the day getting to know each other all over again. He’s been through so much and as heartbreaking as it was to hear his stories I am so proud of how far he’s come. I’m still in awe of this whole experience and have so much to unpack mentally and emotionally. I’m just so thankful for this life and where all of the twists and turns has led me. Life hasn’t always been this beautiful for me but I wouldn’t change a thing. Beauty from ashes.
