This ain’t just a diss record, this is a cultural statement (especially for the west coast). 🔥 With lyrics like, “Once upon a time, all of us was in chains Homie still doubled down callin’ us some slaves,” it’s apparent that @kendricklamar is separating himself Drake, and separating Drake from a culture that was created by Black Americans that he doesn’t seem to have any respect for outside of capitalizing off of it. 🤨 To me, this fits within the broader context of us collectively coming to grips with the fact that all skin folks ain’t kinfolk this year. We’ve seen it play out several times in pop culture already this year and we’re just 4-5 months into 2024. Katt Williams set the stage with his Club Shay Shay interview and it’s been on since then. 😮💨 The bottom line is, we have to clean our house so that our efforts to face the world are done with a clearer vision moving forward. 👓🔎✊🏾 Is this how you took it too? Who do you have winning this battle so far and why is it Kendrick Lamar in your opinion? 🤣 “They not like us, they not like us, they not like us They not like us, they not like us, they not like us!” 🗣️ And oh… It’s time to get @VladTV up outta here for good too. 🤬 #blackhistory #hiphop #hiphopculture #rap #rapmusic #rapbattle #kendrick #kendricklamar #drake #toronto #Compton #california

By the 1970s color photography was ubiquitous. 📸 @Ed Post However, it became popular in the 30s and widely used by the 50s and 60s. So, why in the world is this picture from 1986 during South African apartheid only available in black and white? Why are so many pictures we see from our leaders from the 60s and 70s in America also shown in black and white? ⚫️⚪️ Psychological manipulation. 🧠 Colors mean something, whether it’s being communicated through an advertisement or historical narrative. This makes you FEEL it was a long time ago even though it was only 38 years ago. Funny enough, I couldn’t find this pic in color online. 🤔 🚨 Have you ever considered this? On 4/20/1853, Harriet began the Underground Railroad 🚞 And she preferred to free us on Saturday, because she knew it wouldn’t get to the papers until Monday. She was genius tactician. 💯 📚 Conveniently, we’ll be talking freedom and liberation as well later today, on Saturday, 4/20, as I lecture at @oakparklibrary at 3pm. If you’re in the Chicagoarea, come through! The info is in my bio. 🗣️ Did you know this? 🤔 *Note: This isn’t to say that Underground Railroad routes didn’t exist priorly, but Harriet’s venture into liberating us through her routes didn’t start until this moment. #harriettubman #blackhistory #racism #ushistory #undergroundrailroad #slavery #saturday #420 #april20th
