Replying to @Juan Hole you should learn all the nations of turtle island in the same way you’re required to learn the countries of Europe and Asia. There needs to be some serious education reform to start including Native American history and culture in American history. Native American and indigenous people have many different diverse and Rich cultures histories and heritage- each distinct. this means we all have different names that we call ourselves whether it’s our tribal name or nation name or territory name or a federally recognized name. Some of us like to be called Native American others like to be called indigenous - and if you’re not sure what A native likes to be called ask them. #nat#nativetiktokt#nativeamericant#nativefamily

Replying to @christian 🐼 Dreamcatcher is a sacred Native American item and it was created by the Ojibwe aka anishinaabe tribe. It has a tie and connection to our spiritual world. it is not meant to be used as Decor for that reason it is meant to be an item that is respected. there was a time when Native American indigenous people could not keep or use their ceremony or secret items so we need to keep that in mind with the dream catcher too. #dreamcatcher #nativetiktok #nativefamily #nativeamerican

Replying to @Korran these are some of the Native American tribes and indigenous people that are from the United States. In total there are 574 Native American nations and tribes in the United States this is just a small example of some of them. There are still a lot of Native American territories occupied by native people- and many more areas without that are the result of broken treaties. Each nation and tribe has their own distinct history heritage and culture. #nativetiktok #nativeamerican #nativefamily

In Native culture turquoise is more than just a stone we wear for jewelry. For southwestern tribes as well as northern Mexico‘s indigenous and native people wearing turquoise is steeped in tradition culture and heritage. Many online retailers like Kendra Scott and even craft stores like Michael’s sell turquoise that is either plastic or other stones that have been dyed. If you want to access real turquoise I suggest supporting native indigenous artists. #nativetiktok #naitvefamily #nativeamerican #crystaltok

Replying to @Gothicccness just a note I am not Anishinaabe- but this is what I was told and meant and this was the story that I was given by an individual from that nation. It is always important to make sure that you support the tribes that these items come from. And give respect to all Native American and indigenous items the same you would give to other groups religious items. The dream catcher is something that needs people hold dear so please try to avoid from buying fake ones in party city or hobby lobby. #dreamcatcher #nativetiktok #nativeamerican #nativefamily

Replying to @Rising Dream if we all had the right to wear what we wanted then Native Americans would not constantly be persecuted for doing that. Native Americans are not allowed to wear our hair and often times not allowed to wear our clothing even though other groups are allowed. Are traditional items hold the same value as a head scarf or a yarmulke- same as our hair . We see this time and time again while celebrities and musicians get a pass for wearing our culture as Our culture gets appropriated while we’re not allowed to wear it. #nativetiktok #nativeamerican #nativefamily

Replying to @000 One pair of earrings you’ll often see me where are the Salmon ghost earrings created by @Copper Canoe - Vina Brown is an indigenous native American jewelry designer. You might not be familiar about what these earrings represent or the stories behind them- it’s best not to pass judgment on cultures that you may not have learned about because of a failed education system. I’m happy to share some more information about what or who the Salmon people are and what slamon means to some native american people. So next time when a native tries to explain something to you while wearing indigenous native American jewelry maybe you’ll understand better. #na#nativetiktoka#nativefamilya#nativeamericana#fashiontok
