Returning to the castle 🕯️📖🏰 The best view of Neuschwanstein Castle? The Marienbrücke bridge! 🌉 You can get a shuttle bus that will take you right up to the bridge - from there it’s only a 2 minute walk away. Tickets up cost 3 euros each. Tickets down cost 2 euros each. You can only buy a one-way ticket when you get on the bus. PS the shuttle bus only runs until a certain time, so for sunset we hiked up for this! And that takes about 30-40 minutes! Returning to the castle ✨🏰☘️ This is Rock of Dunamase a part of Ireland’s Ancient East! They are the ruins of what was once Dunamase Castle. But the first known settlement on the rock was “Dun Masc” or “Masc’s Fort”. It was an early Christian settlement that was pillaged in 842 by the Vikings. That’s right… 842!!! The castle would come later in the second half of the 12th century. Tale as old as time… 🥀📖🏰 Did you know that monasteries around the world are famed for their beautiful libraries hidden within? One of my favourite things to do when we travel is to discover monastery libraries. Located in the area of Bad Schussenried, is the Schussenried Monastery. Less than two hours from Stuttgart and just about 2 hours from Munich. It’s famed for their Baroque library hall within with its candy floss painted colours. It looks like a confectionary dream. Is this the prettiest garden in Ireland? 💐🌿⛲️ Only an hour away from Dublin you’ll find Powerscourt Estate and Gardens which was voted Number 3 in the World's Top 10 Gardens by National Geographic - pretty incredible! It’s giving SUCH Spring Court Vibes to me - fantasy readers will know! 👀📖 What to know before you go ⬇️ 🎟️ Tickets are €13.50 per adult 🚙 Parking is free 🪴 The gardens were designed from 1731 and stretches over 47 acres! 💦 PS there’s also Powerscourt Waterfall nearby - but you’ll need a separate ticket for visiting there! A ghostly miller is occasionally seen rushing over THIS bridge back to the cottages here. And Parsonage Woods (the woodlands behind these cottages) are apparently incredibly haunted!
