Back to Basics: Stop cooking your Naan’s the regular way and try this way instead. I promise you will never do it any other way again! Ingredients: 3 cups Pembe Home Baking Flour 1 tsp yeast 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp oil ½ cup natural yoghurt ¾ cup – 1 cup warm milk, or as needed Method: Mix Pembe Home Baking flour, salt, yeast and sugar and then add oil, yoghurt and warm milk and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour. Divide the dough into smaller pieces and roll each into a thin large circle. Wet one side with water and stick the wet side onto the pan. Once you see bubbles form, flip the pan over an open flame until cooked. Spread butter and serve hot! #Ramadan2024 #TikTokCookBook #fyp

Hot & sour chicken soup with leftover chapati noodles? Here’s how you can make it. Method: Slice your left over chapati in thin strips and deep fry until crispy and set aside. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pot and add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and 1 tsp green chillies (optional). Toss and then add 1 sliced chicken breast and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes and then add ½ cup each of shredded cabbage, carrots and bell peppers and stir. Add 3-4 tbsp of dark soy sauce and toss on a high flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Add 4-5 cups of water and let it come to a boil. In a separate bowl, mix 4 tbsp of corn starch with water and stir until dissolved. Pour the corn starch slurry into the boiling soup a little at a time until you achieve the desired thickness. Once you are happy with the thickness, add 1 tbsp of vinegar, stir and take it off the heat. Serve your soup with the crispy fried chapati noodles. ##TikTokCookBook #Ramadan2024

Kheema sandwiches perfect for a quick lunch. Here’s how to make them. Method: Heat 2 tbsp oil and add 1/4 kg minced meat. Season with salt and pepper and then cook until browned. Add 1 tsp chopped garlic, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ chopped onion and chopped coriander leaves and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Let it cool down slightly and then add an egg to it and stir. Fill some of the mixture between 2 slices of bread and then slice into two triangles. Dip each triangle into a bhajia batter (gram flour mixed with salt, turmeric powder, dhania and water) and then deep fry for a minute or two and serve. #Ramadan2024 #TikTokCookBook #fyp

Replying to @fatma__aweis_ Back to Basics: A good coleslaw can be a game changer. This one's a simple recipe and can be prepared in advance as it tastes even nicer cold. Method: shred some cabbage and carrots and then add in 1 tsp mustard, 4-5 tbsp mayonnaise, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, salt to taste and 2-3 tbsp milk. Mix it all together and refrigerate until you need to use. It lasts 3-5 days in the refrigerator. #fyp #TikTokCookBook #Ramadan2024

I found this genius idea on the menu of Pizza Hut at the Mumbai airport during my recent travels and had to recreate it. For the pizza dough: Mix 3 ½ cups of Pembe Home Baking Flour with 2 tsp each of yeast, sugar, and salt. Add 1 cup of lukewarm water and 3 tbsp olive oil and mix to form a dough. Knead for 3 to 4 minutes and then set aside to rise until double in size. For the kebab mixture: Mix 500gms of minced meat with 1 small finely chopped onion, 1 egg, coriander leaves, 1 tsp cumin powder, salt to taste and 3 tbsp ginger water. Fill up a piping bag, cut the tip, and set it aside. For the pizza sauce: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil and throw in 2 tbsp chopped garlic and 1 tsp mixed dried herbs. Cook for a minute and then add blended tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 6-10 minutes and set aside. To assemble: Roll out a portion of the pizza dough, large enough to cover your pizza tray and go over the edge. Pipe the kebab mixture along the edge and then fold the dough over it. Pour pizza sauce over the base and then grate mozzarella cheese over it. Add any other toppings if you’d like to. Otherwise, drizzle some olive oil and pop into the oven at 220°C for 20 minutes. Slice and enjoy. #fyp #Ramadan2024 #food

If you’re buying fresh cow’s milk, you have no excuse. Once you make butter at home, there’s no going back. If you make a whole batch, you can separate it into different containers and freeze it, otherwise the fresh butter will last you 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator. #tiktok #fyp #food

Nothing hits better than a fragrant and flavourful mutton pilau! Here’s how to make it in a few simple steps! Enjoy!  Ingredients: 1 ½ cups Daawat Biryani Rice, washed Whole spices (1 tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp cardamom seeds, ½ tsp black peppercorns, ½ tsp cloves, 1 small cinnamon stick) 2 tbsp oil 3 onions 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste 500g mutton pieces Salt 4 cups water   Method: Dry roast the whole spices on a pan, blend, and set the pilau masala aside. In a pot, heat oil and fry the onions until they turn brown and crispy. Remove half of them and set aside for garnishing and to the rest, add the ginger garlic paste and stir. Then add the mutton pieces, salt, and pilau masala and let it cook for 5 minutes before adding water. Let the meat simmer for an hour and a half and add water as required, until the meat is tender. Once it has cooked through nicely, add the rice, adjust for salt, and then cover and steam for 12 to 15 minutes. Garnish with the fried onions and enjoy. #cookingtiktok #TikTokCookBook #tasteofafrica
