The largest, most structurally sound BEAN AND CHEESE BURRITO 🌯 yet. From Gonzo’s Tacos in Fullerton, CA. I got a DM about this place months ago, saying the bean and cheese burrito was great and that not enough people go to this place. Just outside the charming Downtown Fullerton district (tons of great food in this area btw), i was nervous about what this burrito would be like based on the ominous DM. I brought Foodbeast Brayden along, a fellow connoisseur of burritos of the bean and cheese variety and we checked it out. Yeah, lunch time, a few souls passed by but only Bray went in and out during our stop there. The burrito was humongous, and while that’d normally be a 🚩 flag for quality or structural issues, boy was i wrong. Great beans, noice consistency, multiple kinds of cheese and a perfect seal on the burrito not often achieved by burritos half its size. Even with my squeezing nothing fell apart. All the salsas were worthwhile, the green being my favorite — and we even went back in for tacos and they shined as well. If youre following this journey, give this spot a try — the burrito is big enough to split, and you can run through some tacos while you’re there as well. The Mission Viejo, CA Albertaco’s BEAN AND CHEESE burrito 🌯 😮‍💨😮‍💨 Love this little shopping center near the Mission Viejo Mall, Surfin Souvlaki next door and of course this spot for an absolutely American destroy session of a bean and cheese 😮‍💨✨ I knew it was gonna be good when i stepped inside the restaurant and was met with an open kitchen and a gentlemen peeling humongous nearly transluscent and blank coloring book of tortillas off of a sticky pile to grill them up on their flat top. Following the grill they plumped with gorgoeus colors. As you can see, this tortilla has chew, flop, but holds the weight of the generous cheese and beans throughout. Salsas are quite spicy, and the chicken tostada is everything i want in said item…the shredded lettuce, mouthwatering braised chicken, healthy amount of cheese and another shmear of refried beans. You can do no wrong at this place…im coming back to try everything else…where else should i go for a solid bean and cheese?! The El Toro Bravo Tortilleria bean and cheese burrito in Costa Mesa, CA. This was a special little cuddly burrito everyone needs in their life -- and if you're not familiar with this pocket of Costa Mesa, CA, you're missing out on one of the best stretches of Mexican Food offerings in the county. Oddly enough, just a few streets walking distance away from this El Toro Bravo is home to @Foodbeast's first warehouse office over a decade ago, before we moved our operation to Santa Ana, CA. Anyways, the burrito here was so comfortably wrapped with a cozy nonchalance, yet somehow maintained its shape despite my numerous squeezes. The salty, powdery cotija cheese was a wild display of confidence by the burrito roller and it was unlike any bean and cheese burrito i'd had before. Salty, smooth beans with an essence of body, warm perfect tortilla and green and red salsas that do exactly what they're supposed to. I also ordered a chicken taco because i saw someone in line with me order it and i was enamored with the amount of juicy chicken that the dude was stuffing inside the fresh corn tortillas. Behind the counter was an entire operation where they were making fresh tortillas and corn chips from scratch. Do yourself a favor and grab yourself some iconoc tortilla chips to go. The long overdue SONORATOWN bean and cheese burrito. This spot has a couple locations in Los Angeles and they all fire. If you’ve never been, the tortilla is the main character. Exquisite par-mashed beans, quality cheese and lard-laced tortillas perfectly grilled mark an exceptional bean and cheese experience. I recommend getting a pack of the tortillas to go, and a chicken taco, as well as extra grilled onions. Cashier was telling us some peeps be throwing those away thinking they’re garnish and here we were paying for extras. The HECTOR’S ON THE CIRCLE ⭕️ Bean and Cheese Burrito. My wife and i were waiting for sushi in the Orange Circle…and decided to pop over to Hector’s in Orange, CA for a skinny margarita (yup). I knew this place had solid chips and guac, but my burrito queen (she got me into bean and cheeses years ago) didnt think we should fill up on food here. To her credit, her main concern was that we’d get too loaded and not enough sushi later. To our surprise, the burrito here was incredible — easily in top 25 if the list ended today. Well structure tortilla, some of the best tasting beans ive had to date and a perfect amount of cheese throughout as well as a crispy fried cheese that sealed the burrito shut. Also side fries and ketchup definitely reminded me they thought kids would be ordering this dish, but damnit, all their salsas, particularly their green, are worthy of drinking straight from the cups. Only thing holding this burrito’s score down is that it’s on the expensive side. 2 margs and the burrito got me at roughly 50 bucks. That said, i think Hector’s shojld consider slinging just the bean and cheese out of a side window late night and crush it with the college crowd. 😮‍💨😮‍💨💜💜💜 After sushi, which i didnt film, we hit PANDOR bakery for an ALMOND CROISSANT. It makes me laugh seeing all these goofs talk about cookie croissants like theyre new, and PANDOR BAKERIES across Orange County has been slanging these delicious desserts for years. The "KID'S BEAN AND CHEESE" from Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Orange, CA. I reiterate the "KID'S" because the first waiter we had kept rubbing it in, "so JUST beans and cheese?!" -- then he reminded us, "so you want the KID's bean and cheese?" I asked if he had an adult one because im a full grown man, he said no, and we began the rest of our order. A delicious "seasonal guacamole," a tasty and new-to-me pozole verde with fish, littleneck clams, shrimp, hominy, arugula, radish and a lime sea salt. I enjoyed that very much, and then we rounded it out with a Carnitas Norteas...dope braised pork platter, more guac and handmade tortillas definitely worth writing home about. Funny -- ive been frequenting the Orange Circle for decades, and always missed this spot because me and the buddies chalked it up as an expensive and unnessecary night out...but in the quest to try every single bean and cheese, im glad we gave it a shot. Also, had to order the bean and cheese 2x...the first time came out with rice, so i had to do it again (for science). Overall, this is one of those unique places where the food and ambiance as a whole is better than the bean and cheese. I would order the pork, and other dishes...the bean and cheese just doesnt feel cared about here the way it should be. That said, where yall think this burrito lands on the list of top 100?! The Original Carnitas Michoacan BEAN AND CHEESE BURRITO 🌯 in Los Angeles, CA. This place allegedly been around since 1977, and the bean and cheese burrito and overall experience was killer. The space is tucked around the way from Majordomo near Los Angeles State Historic Park and the tortillas are beautifully chewy and translucent, the beans have the proper mush and texture and the cheese just shy of overwhelming. Also, really enjoyed both the green and red salsas, had more earthy vibes to them than your run of the mill, and the $20 carne burrito was a juicy meal to end all meals. No one recommended this spot, but @Josh Elkin and i saw it glowing after a night out celebrating our friend @Mythical Kitchen on the launch of his new cookbook! After sharing the video on my stories, looks like a lot of yall vouch for this place and i shoulda been here sooner!!! Where yall think this one lands on the TOP 100 list?! We’re getting real close!! The Pepe’s Tacos BEAN AND CHEESE burrito 🌯 in Los Angeles, CA. Asked yall for recommendations near Playa Vista area, and this came in heavy. Staff was great here, I ordered up a side guac 🥑, forbidden flan 🍮 and of course the main character, a really well intentioned bean and cheese burrito. Tortilla was tasty, beans were spot on and the cheese was water falling and stretching. That said, the construction 🦺 couldn’t hold the wait of all the fun the burrito was having and immediately became a fork and knife dish. The salsa reminded me of el torito times, and I’d definitely come back to this place to eat through the rest of the menu. What yall giving this place out of 10 on pure eye test?! The JERSEY MIKE’s CLUB SANDWICH 🥪 /w double proteins. It was my turn to pick up the food tonight, but my wife usually handles the Jersey Mike’s ordering in the app…and goodness, maybe I’m ill equipped as a human, but it was stressful juggling someone else’s order. Regardless, the sandwich was banging. Crispy bacon, nice meats, veggies felt fresh, that red pepper relish on the side was exquisite. Had to hit at all with the salt and vinegar chips for additional texture, all sandwiched between the rosemary parm 🧀 bread. I’m still undecided on sub sandwiches as a vehicle for a CLUB sandwich, but ultimately I was down for this sandwich very much. After trying the @Miguel's Jr bean and cheese burrito 🌯 for the first time a few months back, it quickly jumped towards the top of the inevitable TOP 100 bean and cheeses around. I’m a sucker for a proper bean and cheese in a drive thru. Following that post, I got a wave of DMs of telling me to go back and try it with sour cream. I rolled over to their new Santa Ana, CA location — ordered that — and saw that they had Chicken Pozole at this location, so I ordered that as well (out of a driiiive thru?!). On the bean and cheese front, I squeezed it a bit too hard out the bag and the sour cream came out like a firehose. It was crazy good, these guys have some of the best refried beans in the game, the cheese was just the right amount of melty and unmelted, and the tortilla was unweildy at first and as I got down to the base, the integrity was still in tact. The Sr Tequila Mexican Grill BEAN AND CHEESE burrito 🌯 😂😮‍💨 Sitting in the Contemporary Hotel, deep inside the @waltdisneyworld resort after a day of fortunate eating throughout EPCOT’s Flower and Garden festival…I was perplexed. I had asked hundreds of people — I asked my Disney friends, employees, no burrito within the 43 square miles that is the Kingdom of Walt… Until Sr. Tequila Mexican Grill popped up in my Uber Eats…I ordered a BEAN AND CHEESE (their veggie burrito, no veggies) and a “Tequila Fajita” which is a steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas dish…because hotel room fajitas is a dream. I gotta say, I’ve never been more excited to head down to the lobby of a hotel for anything. At first glance, the burrito resembles a sea of vegetables, almost Italian takeout in nature — but once I dug in, it was a different journey alltogether. The sufficiently runny beans danced with one of the most tasty cheesy hot sauce blends my tongue has ever met. It was treacherously messy, I hated that I couldn’t enjoy with my hands without orchestrating a shower at 1130pm, but I enjoyed every bite. The consistency of the tortillla was congealed by the weight and moisture of its toppings, but damn it sometimes you need a hot, gummy burrito in a jacuzzi of sauce. The NUTTY FOR JAM PB&J sandwich from Nudae Coffee in Costa Mesa, CA. Its an open face PB&J with a housemase salted vanilla nut butter, house made jam and lemon zest. Toast was great, burnt to perfectionnon the edges and lacey and chewy on the inside. The lemon zest was such a perfect glue that brought everything together. One of the tastiest PB&Js ive had this entire journey. I highly recommend -- also saw that they have breakfast burritos, so ill be back for more and to try their other coffees! Thank you guys SO much for helping me find places like this...please let me know where i can go next for an incredible PB&J sandwich 🙏🙏🙏👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

The Gringo Breakfast Burrito from Sessions West Coast Deli in Newport Beach, CA with a coffee and Moroccan Caesar salad. Stopped by here cause someone in the comments was asking if I knew a breakfast burrito spot that put potatoes in their breakfast burrito but didnt want it to be a tater tot, hashbrown or fried potato of any sort. Shortly after someone pointed me to Sessions, and this burrito comes stuffed with: scrambled egg, monterey jack, avocado, crispy breakfast potato with some kinda rosemary (I'm not a chef but it was floral) and a side of salsa Roja for dunking. The burrito was substantial, beautifully rolled and sealed. I'm also toying with starting to order a CAESAR SALAD wherever I go...because it's far and away my favorite type of salad, so I'm baby stepping on featuring it in my breakfast burrito series. This one was "Moroccan" for some reason -- filled with baby gem lettuce, candied dates, toasted coconut, dope croutons, pickled onion, fresh mint, grated Parmesan and tossed in a harissa vinaigrette. Food was good...I just definitely left feeling like i went to a renowned deli spot and ordered everything but the sandwiches 😅☺️ we'll be back to eat more. Easily one of the most requested…and for good reason: the AL AND BEA’S bean and cheese burrito in Los Angeles, CA. Tortilla was crazy flour-y, fresh and gently wrapped. Ordered a bean and cheese with red sauce, and another with green chile sauce (the first one that busted open at the slightest touch). An ode to the fresh tortilla, you see it stick to the paper in the opening sequence and then gush out like the gentlest of waterfalls. The beans were well run, salsa hot from its fresh blend, cheese dancing with the beans like a sexy orgy of dreamlike rain droplets making love under a tortilla blanket. The chicken…err…beef taco was a crunchy delight to the senses. So many bean and cheese burritos, so little time. If i stopped today, this burrito would be in the top 10 list. The Sancho's Tacos BEAN AND CHEESE BURRITO 🌯 from Newport Beach, CA. Honestly, wasn't having a great day, so tried to salvage it with a bean and cheese burrito plus a bonus Carnitas burrito because...why not? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Not usually a big fan of unrefried beans on a bean and cheese burrito, and this particular item reminded me of the bean and cheese from Calacas Mamas Cantina in Anaheim across from Disneyland....except better. Dont leave without the carnitas burrito tho, and an ice cold Topo Chico to wash it all back with. I cant wait to let you know where this joint falls on my list...
