Kyudo has 8 kata or hassetsu (八節) 8 movements or forms. The hassetsu begin by the creation of a strong foundation for shooting with correct body placement in ashibumi足踏 and ends with the final form or spirit: zanshin 残心/残身 and lowering of the yumi: yudaoshi 弓倒し. 📌Thanks to @dari_japan for editing this wonderful video: [Jessica's life in Japan: a working mother who practices kyudo, the Japanese martial art of archery] There is a full video on their YT channel which includes a house tour too🫶 I hope that people find interest and benefit in practicing kyudo as it has positively impacted my life too. So many wonderful friends, a great kyudo community, a place I can be myself without fear of judgment (ibasho 居場所). Kyudo is quite a unique and wonderful martial art.
