JAX MADE ICE CREAM! 🐕‍🦺⚽️🍦 … kind of 😂 What you don’t see is Meg and I kicking the ball back and forth outside for 20 minutes because we had to take the ball away from Jax when he tried to constantly bite and shred it. Anyway, this was fun. The apple cobbler was mid - i really just needed an excuse to use this ice cream ball 💀 #icecream #dessert #funnydogs #baking

Desperately needed a vegatable, so I made a salad with a honey mustard vinaigrette. 1/3 cup honey 3 tablespoons whole grain mustard 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard 2 tablespoons olive oil 1-2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar 1 clove minced garlic pinch of salt 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs Bacon Romaine Grape tomatoes Red onion White cheddar cubes or blue cheese The mix all marinade/dressing ingredients together. Pour half over chicken (in a large zip lock bag or bowl) and let it marinate for 4 hours. Save the rest for the dressing. Cook bacon, then cook chicken in the bacon fat. Combine chopped romaine, cherry tomstoes, red onion, cheese, chicken, chopped bacon, and vinaigrette. Toss and enjoy. #Recipe #salad #cooking #dinner

We’ve been buying a box of cereal every week just for fun, and the box of Fruity Pebbles we bought inspired several desserts so get ready for ‘em… The first - CEREAL MILK ROLLS. Like cinnamon rolls without the cinnamon, with Fruity Pebbles-flavored milk, and more cereal mixed into the cream cheese icing. I had to ask Meg to take the rest to work so neither of us would deal with the sugar stomach ache for days to come 😂 Adapted from a @butternutbakery cinnamon roll recipe 1 cup Fruity Pebbles 2 cups milk Combine fruity pebbles and milk in a bowl and let it sit in refrigerator for min. 1 hour. Pour the milk through a fine mesh sieve. Discard cereal matter. 4.5 cups AP flour 1/3 cup sugar 2 packets rapid rise yeast 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups cereal milk 6 tbsp unsalted butter 1 egg In a large bowl, whisk 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a small sauce pan or microwave safe bowl, heat the cereal milk and butter until warm (not hot) and butter is mostly melted. Pour cereal milk and butter into dry ingredients. Add egg and mix. Add 2 more cups of flour & continue to mix. Then add 1/2 cup remaining flour & mix - it’ll be thick and sticky. Start kneading with your hands. Add 1/4-1/2 cup more of flour if dough is too sticky. Let it rest for 10 min. Place dough on lightly floured surface & roll it out into a large rectangle. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temp 1/2 cup light brown sugar Spread the butter onto the rolled out dough. Sprinkle brown sugar over the butter. Roll the dough into a log starting from the longer side. Cut the log in half, then cut each half in half, then each quarter into 3 rolls. Place rolls in a greased 9x13 baking dish & place in a warm spot, cover with a towel, and allow to rise for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350F. Bake for 25-30 minutes. 4 oz cream cheese, room temp 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temp 1 cup powdered sugar 1/4 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal Using a mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter together. Add powdered sugar and mix. Fold in the cereal. Spread cream cheese onto warm rolls, and enjoy! #dessert #baking #baked #munchies #cinnamonrolls

#ad Lighting my SECRET SESH candle while making the BEST smashburger and homemade fries. I haven’t made homemsde fries in AGES so this was a special treat (even though it took forever lol) Peel two russet potatoes and cut into 1/4 inch slices, then cut each slice into 1/4 inch fries. Put them in a large pot filled with water and add 2 tbsp white vinegar and 1 tbsp salt. Place over high heat and bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10 min. Carefully remove the fries and dry them on a clean dish towel. Fill a large pot with canola or vegetable oil (about 3 inches deep). Heat oil to 400 degrees. Add half of the fries and fry for 1-2 minutes. Drain them on paper towels. They will still be white and soft. Let the oil temp rise back to 400 before frying the next batch. After the first fry, bring oil temp back up to 400. Then fry half of the fries for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel lined sheet or bowl. Repeat with the rest of the fries. Salt the fries. Add parsley if desired. For the burger, smash 4 oz beef as flat as you can get it. In an oiled cast iron skillet over high heat, sear the patty for about 1-2 minutes per side. Add cheese and cover. For the sauce, combine mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix. We served out burgers on toasted potato rolls with caramelized onion. #burger #Recipe #dinner #homemade #cooking #foodontiktok

My god, this was an incredible sandwich. Roasted red pepper vodka sauce (without the vodka… oops) chicken parm sandwich FOR THE CHICKEN 4 Chicken breast cutlets, pounded thin 2 eggs Salt & pepper 1 cup flour Paprika Garlic powder Onion powder 1 cup panko bread crumbs 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan Fresh or dried parsley 1 cup neutral oil Pound the chicken cutlets thin. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper. In another shallow bowl, add flour and season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion no powder. In a third shallow bowl, add panko with Parmesan, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and add about 1/2 inch of oil. Bring oil to 350°F. Dip each chicken cutlet in flour first, then egg, then panko. Fry each piece for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack (this is important - this will help keep the chicken crispy. Laying on paper towel or a plate will make the breading soggy). FOR THE SAUCE 1 shallot, minced As much garlic as ya want, minced 2 tbsp tomato paste (which I forgot lol) 2 tbsp vodka (which I also forgot) 1 28oz can peeled whole tomatoes 1 16oz jar roasted red peppers, blended Salt & pepper 1/4 cup heavy cream Heat 1-3 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shallot and cook until translucent, 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Add tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, deepening in color. Add vodka and cook until alcohol burns off. Pour in tomatoes and use a wooden spoon to crush them. Pour in blended roasted red peppers. Bring to a simmer and add heavy cream, stirring until incorporated. FOR THE SANDWICH Chicken Vodka sauce Ciabatta bread Your favorite pesto Fresh mozzarella set your broiler to high. Place chicken on a wire rack situated inside a baking sheet. Spoon vodka sauce on top of chicken, then top with sliced mozzarella. Broil for 5 minutes or until cheese is toasted and bubbly. Keep a close eye on it so it does not burn. Toast the inside of ciabatta bread. Add pesto to bottom slice. Add chicken + more sauce. #Recipe #chickenrecipe #cooking #Foodie

Watch me get high… up on a wall for the first time. If you’ve been here a while, you may remember my lifting days. I trained Olympic-style lifting from 2015-2018, and powerlifting from 2019-2023, and I competed in both sports. I was admittedly an a**hole in my 20s when it came to fitness. I believed lifting was the best / only way to get strong. I drank the lifting community Kool-Aid. I neglected to do any other form of fitness or take care of my body because lifting was always superior to me and I didn’t think I needed cardio or yoga. I was wrong as fuck. Cut to now, I’m just over a week away from turning 33, and over the last year I’ve dealt with more hip pain, lower back pain, shoulder pain, stiffness, soreness, weakness than ever. I believe it’s because I used to lift *heavy* and train somewhat competitively without doing anything else to take care of my body and it has all caught up to me. I have also just fallen out of love with weightlifting. It has been hard to admit this to myself, because lifting used to be my entire (annoying) personality a few years ago. So no longer enjoying lifting has felt a bit like an identity crisis, and my gym anxiety has come back with a vengeance. I admitted to myself that I didn’t enjoy lifting anymore and needed to try something new. So I’m trying to learn how to Boulder (partly bc my girlfriend loves it and I’m inspired by how excited it makes her). So I’m challenging myself with a new activity. And I can’t make the excuse that I’m “too old” to try something new because that’s some bullsh*t. I’ll share my progress here if you’re interested in my breath-y stories while I’m trying to figure out how to do this sport 🙃 #climbing #Fitness #bouldering #rockclimbing
