Again, starting with some criticism for my "helpers": This Kanabo is about 1ft longer than any other one I've had in the past, which means some of my normal movements were awkward and slower! Work to be done, and work will be done! . . Now, the cool part: Dude I haven't dusted this form off in literal years! It felt SOOOO good to get up there and rip my way through this form with all the intensity I wanted👹 I was even able to modify some movements on the fly to make them work better, an undeniable testament to my comfort with this awesome weapon💖 Yet again, proud of myself for playing, and hopefully it will encourage others to do the same🫶🏾👹 #benseiarmy #martialarts #kanabo #tetsubo #oninikanabo #forhonor #shugoki #foryou #fyp #videogames

For those unfamiliar a #kanano is a feudal Japan era war club that, despite only seeing combat for around 100 years, left such a lasting impact that they are now immortalized in the the saying, "Oni ni kanabō". For my trolls/"helpers": I had two things I disliked about my performance here! 1. It touched the floor, and, as most of us in the traditional martialarts community know a floor touch with a weapon (unless intended) can be anything from a loss of points to a DQ! While I was INSTANTLY able to recover and didn't lose momentum, it's still annoying and something I wanna fix! 2. The missed footshot was visible to anyone with flexible weapons training, and definitely can be fixed in the future! . . Wonderful! Now, for everyone else: This was a MASSIVE personal challenge! Flow work has been one of my biggest struggles for a long LONG time because of how my brain is wired. I can't seem to relax like I need to when performing flow work for an audience, so I created a form that would force me to do so! While this form has a few road markers for me to follow, the majority of this form is done in moment, with the goal being to allow my body to express freely it's knowledge despite how turbulent my brain is (hence the name). I'm so proud of myself for attempting something so personally challenging, and am very excited to see what the next iteration looks and feels like! Finally, FINALLY! I CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT MY GUINNESS WORLD RECORD 🎊😭🎊 . So, do we remember that trip to Milan, Italy that I took earlier this year? Well, I had the absolute honor of being on Lo Show dei Record, an Italian TV show where people set and break world records! Knowing that there were no meteorhammer OR ropedart records in the books, it was my absolute pleasure to represent the community on such a large stage🥰 . I will make a video soon about the experience, and everything I can recall, but understandably I'll be taking the rest of my day to enjoy the sun and hang with friends and family ❤️ From the bottom of my heart, with the entirety of my soul, I can not thank the #benseiarmy enough for helping me get to where I am today.
